Elixir farming... is it that difficult?

Hi,

I'm a new TH9 and I'm doing fine, but the Elixir isn't coming as fast as I like to.

I've upgraded one Army Camp. Upgrading the second. Did my lab and my Spell Factory and started the Giant upgrade and bought a Dark Elixir Drill.

But is stays low and is really behind the gold. I mostly use Barbarians and Archers and some Giants and Wallbreakers to get to storages (about 5 of each). I even use some minions to get the stuff faster, but for once I'm really not looking forward to that Archer upgrade.

Trophy range: 1550+, 5* Archers, Barbs, Giants and 2* Minions.

Any tips?

Worked for me at around 1700 (or higher if too many TH7s around)

+1 on BAM as well.
The number one key to farming elixir quickly is using a very cheap elixir army such as BARCH or BAM.
Giants/Wallbreakers and such do help to get deeper into a base, but they also cost more elixir and take longer to build, both negatively effecting the amount elixir you can get in any one hour, so the benefits are typically offset.

The BAM guide I did is in the context of gold, but elixir farming is the identical method except I search for high elixir bases vs. high gold.

At 1500 trophy's I'm going to say you're fairly low for a TH9. My son is a TH8 and he's farming in the 1600 range, so I'd try moving up in trophy's some for starters to take the loot penalty out of play.
There's a lot of super easy bases all the way up to 1900+ for a new TH9 to have fun with.

One thing that I figured out when upgrading my spell factory and being without spells for raiding was to really think if a spell is worth it.

Will dropping this rage get me another 40K elixer on this raid?

Usually the answer is no.

I have been th9 for about 4 weeks now, and have been struggling to keep up with the elixer demands too.

I'm almost there though, I've got 3 DE drill levels to go on one drill, and the other one is maxed. Then one level on each of my dark barracks and the elixer buildings are done.

Try crystal it worked for me fine it takes less than 3 mins to find inactives so yea doing crystal farming is ok atm good loots there

your still early th9 so your elixir building upgrades are keeping it low but getting elixir shouldnt be a hustle

Or at least drop the giants if you want to save elixer.

Use BAM at 1500-1700 for gold/elixir farming.

Minimize use of spells if possible

Use only ICE (in case of emergency)

You can use hogs instead of giants. Trading dark elixir for pink elixir. Go about your typical strat. I prefer BAG over BAM or BARCH but to each his own. Once you've put down a decent amount of barbs and archers, drop your hogs. The goal is to target at least 2 aoe structures. Either 2 mortars, 2 wizard towers, or 1 of each. Only use one healing spell per fight. Typically I use it on the hogs, but in the location that my barbs and gobs are going to walk in to as well.

Elixir is really easy to farm off TH8's. They are typically just storing up elixir waiting for their next research. I'm in Gold 2 right now around 1600ish and it's very common for me to see people with 200k or more pink elixir. I usually try to get the ones with a few hundred dark elixir too to offset the cost of hogs.
