Anybody want to test out the new version?
Hi, I am trying out your new base v1 for clan wars... shall let you guys know how it goes...
But do note, that the setup in your pictures, (the core, w/o buildings, just traps screenshots) are slightly different from the 1st picture. The walls, traps and placement of the buildings... But I went ahead with the very first setup.

More than that mate, if you look carefully at 1st picture, your traps and wall placement is similar to v2 but the rest of the pictures are different. I went to look at your base, it is different from your first screen shot. I hope it still works. My base have not been attacked up till now. Please change, if not it is rather confusing. Thanks.

Got attacked 2 times, yesterday and this morning.
The top one: they lured barb king to the top and killed him. He dropped barbs and archers at top to clear out buildings. He broke through the wall at the top on the right once the giants destroyed the archer tower and cannon he used his hogs. After destroying the archer tower a few pathed to the middle and destroyed half of it. Rest went around the ring. The giants were punching the wall while the hogs destroyed the outside defenses. Once the wall was broken they went to the middle and destroyed the core and he dropped his barb king which just went to the outside. By then all the hogs were dead and so were the infantry. After destroying the core they went to the bottom left and destroy all of the defenses down there with a heal spell
The bottom one: he spammed all of his giants the hog and wall breakers at the bottom. When they destroyed the air defense they went left to the wizard tower. He dropped a rage on them. He then dropped archers for clean up and he lightning the clan castle troops. He dropped goblins to get the gold storage and used a heal spells. Archers went to the left and started shooting the air defense and elixer storage where he dropped a heal spell
Because of the hogs going to the middle i pushed the archer towers out one block

Lost another defense
Lured and killed king. Spammed giants and hogs destroyed 5 defenses before dying. Archers and wizards destroyed elixer, altar, dark elixer, air defense, mortar, gold, and clan castle. Barb king and queen went around base but archer queen finally targeted the center bestroyed town hall with like one life left

So what do you think is better? Version 1 or Version 2? Or v2.0 Variation 1 or v2.0 Variation 2?
I've implemented the v2.1 design of your base. And it seems that the base is very vunerable to barcher combined with giants. Im sorry that i cant post the def log images, but yeah if you can reconsider the base design so that it would be great againts conventional troops, it would be excellent. Hogs failed to penetrate the base tho.
Ok, I was using the v2.0 variation1 for clan wars.
I shall say it held up quite all right, only got attacked until the last 30 mins before war ends. Was 61% 1 star by 9 level2 dragons. My Air Defense only still 1 x level 4 and 2 x level 5. So probably will be better when it is all level 6.
Will continue to use it for next wars to get more results.

The main problem i have found with this base is that once the attacker has breached the core there aren't many defenses shooting at them.
You could possibly move an archer tower and wizard tower into the core
It's hard to make a good Anti-Hog base at LvL 8. I can just send in a couple of Hogs to clear the first line of defenses to get close enough to the CC to lure it. So it all depends on how much brain the attacker got.
I tried out variation number one and I gotta say it isn't working out for me. I'm getting one starred a lot, even two starred by low-tier armies. I'm not even that high in trophies either, around 1500. On the plus side, the clan castle is indeed pretty hard to lure, and it does perform pretty well against hogs.
I guess the main problem is that an attacker only has to take out about 3 point defenses to breach to the core. Also, the attacker has to be in the inner ring before the mortars start shooting.
I now realize (by looking at my defenses and your feedback :)) that you just can't have everything in a base, sure this base has a practically unlurable CC, but by doing that, I made the base more weak to core breaches because the outer defenses don't fire towards the core, You can't have everything in a base :((sigh*) I might go back to farming and try to make a base.
What do you think about just using as a clan wars base? Do we have any battle logs?
But like you said one base cannot have it all. If you protect against one certain type of attack it does make you vulnerable to other forms. Try to design a base that does well against most attacks. Keep your head up son!
Ppl reading this, pls don't try this base if u are not max out. Not really good IMO, ring broken.
The hogs attacking me went straight to the core where the corners of the ring are.
I will test Variation 2 in my Clan War tomorrow, will keep y'all up to date.

I use v2.0 variation 1 for clan war, but i found that there is a problem, after hogs take out the archertower at the bottom, they will go attack AD in the core area instead of going attack WT.
I'll try to edit the base later, I'm farming now and currently testing a new base I made for farming so I might edit this base when I have a shield or something
My 2nd clan wars results...
-Opponent used 4 x level5 lightning spells to take out the bottom level 5 air defense (he misplaced one spell)
-Troops used to attack my base:
1) 100 level4 minions (weird strategy...)
2) clan castle of level4 barbs, archers and wizards,
3) level7 barb king and level5 archer queen.
Result: 78% 2 stars.
I shall say not too bad a lost... Opponent is a premature town hall10 whereas I am a mid level town hall8, level 77.
Will continue to use for 3rd wars...

Not trying to be mean here but there is no th8 base that is true anti hog, or unlurable clan castle.
Kind of fed up of seeing the same old title for the same bases.
I tried the farming version in gold 3. And found very little success protecting any of my resources, changed up to dominion.

My wizard towers - 2xlevel 6, 1xlevel 5
Archer towers - 4xlevel 8, 1x level9
Teslas - 3xlevel 3
Air defense - 2xlevel5, 1 x level4
Canons - 3x level8, 2xlevel9
mortars - 3 x level6
Barb king Level 5
CC troops - 1 x level3dragon, 1 x level5 wiz, 1 x level5 archer
As you can see most defenses still not at max, I am thinking could have been better if almost max out defenses...
Nevertheless, will continue testing the base for wars...

I'm a new TH8 and have max defenses for TH7, and am working on upgrades now. I typically have over a million in gold and elixir and around 10k dark elixir. The base is working great for me. In four days I am +99 on defense trophies from wins. Have lost three battles. Two were attacks by lvl 6 giant swarms using 4 heal spells, and the third was 30 hogs with heal and rage spells. Neither attack came close to profiting. I am very happy with the base and I am sure that it will only get stronger as my defense continues to upgrade. Thanks for the base! ps. I hover around 1700 trophies. pps. I use version 2.2.

I'm currently testing 2 new bases that I made, after I'm done with my clan's trophy push I'll revisit this base and try to fix the hogs going right in the center
Looks good, might have to test it out next clan war.
I'm using v 2.0 variation 2 in clan war and here is the outcome. There was 1 hog went to core on west and 4-7 hogs on south. Thankfully wizards and archers took them out after they finish the air defense. Great base so far Ultradragonmaster

Clan wars results continued...
Didnt get attacked at all for 3rd wars...
For 4th wars, was hit by 2 attacks.
1st attack by 10 lvl3 dragons, another lvl3 dragon, 1x lvl5 wiz and 1 x lvl5 barb from CC, lvl8 BK and 3xlvl5 rage spells. 83% 1 star.
2nd attack by lvl5 giants, wiz, archers, barbs, wallbreakers, lvl3 healers, lvl5 BK, lvl4 healing and rage spells.
36% no star. It was a last second desperate attack from the opponent and we won the wars 55 to 54 stars.
So far so good, been using this base for 4 wars and it is performing well. After the new update, it is actually better because the BK can help to defend the town hall core since it cant be pulled out and killed.

How come there is a spawn spot right where the 2 double giant bombs are on the farming version? right next to outer archer tower and mortar?
Using version 2, variation 1. Used pekka and wizards to disable the northeast defenses then hogs went straight to the core.

I've been using version 2, variation 2 with a swapped DE storage and barb king in the clan wars. It's held up pretty well in wars apart from against dragons which regularly 3 star it. I have three level 3 air defenses and level 5 and 6 teslas. Not really sure what else can be done to protect against dragons?
Edit: Sorry typo above, should have been 3 level 6 air defenses.
Sorry bit of a typo there, I have 3 level 6 air defenses. Not 3. My bad. ie. the max at TH8. Archer towers are around level 8-9 and slowly being upgraded too. I quite often get attacked by dragons on the TH side of the base if that helps.
Which 1 performs better in war?
I really dug this base design. I started using it when I was a late TH8 and used it for about 5-6 weeks. I am now TH9 so I need to move on to a different base design, but I think the whole time I used this base, I was only 3-starred once or twice. The base frequently foiled attempts to 3-star, even by TH9s who attacked me in war. The one time I remember being 3-starred was by a person who had a clanmate with this design as well!
If I had to do it all over again, I would again use this base for late TH8. It is unusual and frequently prevents effective hog attacks.
IMPORTANT: BETA v3.0 is out! It is a TOTAL REVAMP of the base!I wanted the base to be more unique and I also have been honing my base building skills and this is the result! Even though I have moved on to TH9 take note that I only use TH8 buildings for all of you haters out there. And also remember that v3.0 is currently inBETA so its not a finished product! I might change the base around. I also need testers to help test BETA v3.0 and your feedback to help improve the base even more!

The outer ring is covered by nothing. Loons have an easy time on it. A loon per cannon/archertower, two loons per wizztower and the outer defense is gone...

Th8 only has 2 air seeking mines (black ones), you may want to change that.
I got three starred by about 40 level 5 hogs (the number two player on the enemy clan). There isn't much a th8 can do about it. However, the hogs entered the core easily. They jumped to the northwest mortar instead of the north cannon.

Why change a whole base around to defend against an attack th8's can't even defend against when you could rather defend against the far more common hogs and drags?
For the OP, the hog ring seems to be broken at the northwest mortar and northeast AD. When hogs attack the point defenses next to those, half of the hogs follow the ring and the other half enter the core.
I was, however, pleased that the base forced an xp level 102 to attack a 71. I was only attacked in the last 20 minutes of the war, and as I said, there isn't a whole lot a th8 can do vs level 5 hogs. I will continue to use the base, but the ring should be looked in to.
Testing this one out in Clan Wars. Will let you know how it goes. You have an oddly placed single wall at the top and you're missing a camp.
thx for testing it before sharing it. The base on the first pic may not be good against hogs since the hog ring is easily broken.
I'm a Maxed TH8 and Easily got 3-stared with level 3 dragons with BETA v3.0 ...
No need for an overhaul, the base looked great. Keep the base and don't do any overhauls, I suggest you make a TH9 version.

Good job making unlurable cc and taking teslas in core.
The biggest flaw i think is your walling structure. Why are you walling your second layer with non defensive buildings and not walling your defenses?yes i know walls dont matter for hogs and dragons doesnt mean you take the risk to ignore other troops like giants, pekkas,BK,queen(you know how much she loves shooting walls)etc. Defenses defend.. Protect them. This also makes the cc actually easy to lure.. Just put a giant and a couple of wbs... They will also alert the cc, break 2nd compartment.walling your defenses should probably fix it.
I've been using the variation 1.0 for a week already and I'm a high-middle-tier TH8.
The only time i get owned is when mature TH9'ers attack me, also, this base is prone to any attacks using minions which what fellow TH8'ers use against me.
So far my experience with this base is generally ok, but i have been upgrading my defenses so i didnt really have an instance where all defenses were online and zapping enemy units.
