Compensation for Bug & Glitch Victims

So after a couple of major bugs and glitches in the game over the last month, i have a query for SC.

In the case of future bugs, will the victims get any form of compensation to get back what they lost due to the bug?

For example, if i wake up one morning and find all my DE gone, will i get them back after the issue is fixed?

Or if my collectors stopped producing for 3 months due to a bug, will i get back the amount that they should have generated?

Or if a certain bug allows normal members to perform mass kicking and i lost my clan (& clan war records) due to it, will i get my clan back after everything is fixed?

I usually don't worry about these things because CoC had been quite secure, until recently.

I'd like to re-evaluate the appropriate amount of time, effort, and money spend on this game base on the security of my village, and your (SC) input will help a lot.

I heard that they are compensating all those who have lost loot or trophies due to glitches or bugs!

Send a ticket through to support with the details of what happened and they should get back to you by August :)

They probably will take months to grt back to him, not fix it and make him send another ticket which will take another couple months and they will then say it was to long ago to be helped

What about the people who abused ghosting and eyemod?

My whole clan are victims of one, where as everyone can be a victim of the other.

Ghosting was pretty much fixed but it's still possible for a few seconds to allow for genuine disconnections.

This thread is not about fixing the issue.

I'm sure bugs and glitches will be fixed in due course, but my concern is whether the victims of the glitches will be compensated. Especially in situations where the abuser of the glitch actually inflicts tangible damage to the victims account (like how the out of sync glitch effectively removes the victims' trophies).

My post was responding to JSpong.

Given that people who were affected by the recent gem glitch were compensated for the roll back with gems it would seem that in some cases you will receive compensation. With the recent trophy loss maybe those player affected will be compensated(likely not), however given the resulting bans and player dissatisfaction there is a good possibility the players affected will have an opportunity to regain their lost trophies.

As has always been the case if you feel that you have lost something tangible due to SCs error you can file a support ticket, just make sure to include screenshots and a good explanation of how you lost and what you lost.

No, he was asking whether the che@ters would be punished, also technically leading onto is it fixed properly.

Getting back on topic, I would say the answer does not look good for us Sandy. I can understand some issues like the 500 de rounding one when CW first came out, but the recent one especially it is criminal to not compensate people for the loss of time and money.

The quotes below are in reference to compensation, lets keep the discussions about punishment to the threads already covering that and keep this one on topic if possible.

There are many folks with many days to many weeks on a break right now. The punishment on the offenders are laughable to say the least. Kimul* has 7 accounts! 7 freaking accounts! All of them jailbroken with eyemod running! And one of it got banned for 16 days.

You know how bad is that for him? So bad that he had to make a spoof Oprah interview to mock SC's effort to punish the che@ters. :rolleyes:

I've been asking for crackdown on multiple accounts for a long time now. Youtubers raiding with minis? Ban! Youtubers playing CoC on PC? Ban! Not a free trip to Finland.

The lack of punishment on REPEATED offenders is what causes players to exploit glitches without hesitation. As far as i'm concerned, the likes of Kimul* and Jason Yiew* should not be allowed to play CoC ever again.

It's not a one time thing. These players are ones who have no second thoughts about exploiting any future glitches and bugs to their advantages, as proven by history.

As for the victims, i feel terribly sorry for them for getting nothing out of this, other than the chance to attack Kimul's* account for 16 days. Good luck trying to find him while his entire clan and his 6 other accounts are constantly shielding it.

To put it into a farmer's perspective, imagine players exploiting a glitch that makes you auto-next until your storages are dry once you hit next on their bases. No compensation from SC after that. Now multiple that frustration by around 2000 times, that's how trophy hunting victims feel right now.

The spoof was a bit funny I must admit. But what really drew me was his reasoning for exploiting which alludes to his attitude towards glitches and exploits in general. "They never banned Visual* for using mods to stay online so I was very surprised they banned my account and I am sorry for that." Couple important things to take away from this.

1.he is only sorry he was banned. Not because he was caught (he wasn't hiding it) and not because it was a crappy thing to do. The only regret for him is the ban.

2. His mindset clearly is that if there is an exploit then he will use it so long as he feels he won't be banned for it. (his multiple accounts on multiple ipads are just tip of iceberg here. In the eyes of Kimil*, an exploit is fair game. It is how SC polices it that will dictate his use of it.

For these reasons, the best way for SC to combat future abuse like this is to set precedence of doling out harsh punishment, which depending who you ask, they did. As far as compensation goes, I honestly can't speak on that beyond speculation, but my general sense is that SC attitude towards any kind of "refund" is "better luck getting it from google or apple and if you do then more power to you." If you feel your investment in this game isn't as secure (not sure how secure it ever was to begin with) as it used to be and your recourse is to continue spending the time and resources on it that you are used to with the hopes that SC will compensate you for future losses....I think history tells us that odds are not in your favor. Good luck though.

All exploits that outright steal your gems (virtual currency paid by real money) and your time should be compensated by the creator of the environment.

As Sandhat points out correctly is when no punishments are enforced to severely keep the individuals who are tempted to exploit this environment - the maker clearly announce that is okay. Small hand slaps and pinching to the pets and no settlements to the victims for financial losses and time.

The latest exploit is a good example and raises the question how much more other individuals must lose in money and time until there are enforced restrictions which make the game safe from future potential losses which may hold a value significant higher than the exploit last weekend. (And involve a larger number of individuals)

It also raises the question of credibility and accountability from the creators and why the double standards are applied to a certain group of individuals.

I sincerely hope those who lost money and time will get some acceptable settlement which will make them satisfied and not a slap in the face and silence.
