All you can do is laugh at the person as they use 20 000 ish (depending on level) elixir per spell... Sucks to have that happen, but it's a part of the game

It's not a really efficient way to farm so I wouldn't worry about it. Plus what is 600 DE it can be farmed back pretty easy. Its the persons choise to spend a lot of elix and lose cups for small amount of DE.
