Name change option, just listen.

I understand why this option can be a burdon, but some people, like me, can't stand their name anymore.
I can see as why you wouldn't want to add this as people can troll, impersonate or flame, but there are many ways to fix this.
Have a cool down ( a month or two )
Have an option where you can see the users previous names.
Have it to where you can only change it ones or twice a year.

this option should be a default one as it is so simple. I cannot see why this would be such a problem to add in.
It makes no sense what so ever.

What they should really add is like a daily 'spin the wheel and get a prize' sort of thing, where one of the prices should be the name change option. But I would add the options you mentioned above.

A wheel of fortune that rewards you with a name change isa horrible idea, totally misusable and exploitable.

Besides that, OP's idea is kinda okay, just that seeing what your former name was kinda makes changing it in the first place a bit useless but on the other hand without it Clans would have trouble with trolls joining every couple of months always with a new name

With the button to see the players former names eliminates this factor. It is a simple fix, supercell just says No, for a reason I cannot understand. If we want to change our names, than why shouldn't we be allowed. It is absolutely ridiculous.

I agree with this, because there are so many people i talk to in world chat that regret making their name what it is and many because u cant type their name for some reason, also some young people may have used private names to find friends clans easily but not realising that millions of people can see their name.

YES! I honestly would pay 50$ to change my name. It is a simple fix SC, you could make plenty of profit from adding something that should have been there from the start.

They could do that at a cheaper price like 100 gems or they could just let us change it at free of charge...

Seriously, what's the point of posting this thread? It's been suggested a ridiculous amount of times already and Supercell is competent enough to limit name changes if they include them, which they've made clear they won't. If you're just looking to start arguments, please go to a different site.

it's an interesting and sound argument, but sadly SC is still the one who has the power to say yes and no

and dunno if they will ever read this thread because it is clearly one of their ruled out ideas

You can complain about negative comment but a) you are posting the thread and threads tend to get both positive and negative feedback, so if you can´t deal with it, get a life. and b) you did read the sticky posts and you are aware this is ruled out so what is the point of this thead?

I see your point to a degree but kinda disagree too - If it cost actual money then it would be less likely that some irritating kid would bother just to be a pain in the backside.

I bet that there are thousands of people out there who signed up with some stupid name, thinking that they'd play for a while then get bored and are now stuck with something completely rediculous!

When it comes to accepting new people to the clan, their name makes a difference too.

Emember, they can see your past names, said in the OP. Are there any other loopholes that you can think of? I think this is ruled out, but it would be nice to have a really active discussion on this.

if a kid really wants to get back at a leader by changing his name and spending 50$ then who cares let him do it, he will simply get banned from the clan again and a 2nd name change wouldn't be allowed so soon and more $ out of his pocket. Who wins? Supercell and the clan leader/elder.

The arguments to implement name change mostly seems to be that a player starts the game, chosing a ridiculous name, then after a while, starts liking the game and wants a name change. This is exactly how I started to play this game.

I am confident that any player that started off this game not thinking that he or she would continue playing the game but got hooked up after a while wil have the same issue I ran into beside the name change. I spent too many gems in the beginning and now I want to spent less. So, I just started over, new account and new name, now happy as can be.

The majority of people who would like to change their name will fall into the category of people not willing to spend a dime, so if I was supercell I would say it is ruled out, oh wait, that´s what they did, didn´t they?

Someone willing to spent 50$ for a name change could do so today by starting all over and just using gems to get to the same level as they were, so, name change at 50$ is already available today, lol

Yeah bud, a maxed th9 starting over? I think not.

or you can assign everyone unique id numbers, so that if they get banned, their id is banned, so no matter if they want a new name or not, this will not get them back into the clan. that is what minecraft is going to do as they now allow name changes.
