My game won't start.

So my game wouldn't start. It opens up (as all app does in iphone4s), but then disappears after 0.2 second. I have looked at the FAQ about this problem, and have tried all methods above the "uninstall and reinstall app" line. Just want to make sure this is not cause by a server-side issue (like maintanance break, update, etc) before try reinstallation. Somebody please confirm that your game launches (or not). Thanks. Add: the game closes itself before the first screen ("SUPERCELL") could show up.

Try resetting your device.

Hold the home and power button till you see the apple.

I have tried to restart my device and also uninstall/reinstall. Not working for me.

What version of ios are you on?

Good question. I'm having 5.0.1 on a iPhone4. Do I need to update to latest iOS? I don't have my game center linked. If I update to latest iOS, will I lose my town?

Maybe try quitting all background applications?

Oh and btw, wrong sub forum. This goes to Bugs and Problems, not General.

This is killing me now, so please allow me to stay here for a while (also tried in Bugs and Problems, but no one has replied). I have tried to close all background applications, restarting the device, uninstall/reinstall the game. The next step listed on the FAQ is to upgrade to a latest iOS - I have to make sure I won't lose my town even when i'm not connected in game center. I don't want to lose my game (as a matter of fact just got BK last night).

I really suggest you connect your game to Gamecenter, as a general thing. You never know when you could have a problem with your device, then your village could be gone forever. I recommend attaching your game to Gamecenter that way you don't even have to worry about it.

To be honest, I really don't know exactly what to say.

I wouldn't think that updating your OS would do anything at all to your game, but if something did go wrong, you would really have a problem. Before doing that, though, go ahead and read through the rest of the steps on the troubleshooting sticky and see if anything jumps out at you as a possibility. Network connections and the like are common issues. But, I can't really see updating your OS causing a problem even if the game isn't connected to Gamecenter. Unless the device is reset, which it won't be in an iOS update, the game shouldn't be affected by virtually anything.
