Nitpicking is exactly what I am looking for! :) Thanks--sometimes I do things and don't even notice. :p
You, on the other hand have a pretty intense focus/ability to pick up on small things. Must be why you play this so well--guessing it comes in handy when doing the 30 second evalualtion of bases when attacking.
Anyway, yes--you noticed the single, missing wall piece. I was uphappy with that so I banished him to the corner of my lands.

I guess you noticing the extra wall piece etc. is not that shocking, this is your base design after all. :) Which leads me to another point, which I will bring up in separate thread later.
You should see me nit picking the exact spot which i place my spring trap.. 1 shot sprung 4 wall breakers away just now, super awesome feel haha :)
and the way i push back deployment spawn area, every single tile in that 40x40 map matters man LOL.
Yay haha :D found that single missing wall piece :P
i knew there was 1 extra piece :)
and yea, this is my most favourite base design so far.. Tweaked it like mad already haha :p
ot: 2 lv6 air def completing this friday.. Which means my "core" will be completed :P
until 23 more days where my 3rd AD hits lv6 haha
Oh yeah, sorry guys, for chatting so much with seamus.
Here are some comments for the bases in the previous page.
Its because part of your url has a "bad word" in it, thus being censored and unable to be linked.

Regarding your base, those collectors really gave you tons of exp haha.
Is your clan actively donating ? If so I would suggest you to centralise the CC abit more, as 25 CC troops can really turn the tide in some defense.
Storage segmented well, but splash towers a little too spread out for my taste, which leads to over reliance of the single splash tower ina single area.
The double layer wall at the bottom is a nice trick against wall breakers as they will wall further to hit the single wall, which will then be taken down by the tesla, and its great that you bait attackers to attack from there using your th.
But yeah, thats alot of walls wasted just for that little trick.
Those walls can be use to segment your sides a little more, as those are your weak points, the double walls at the top as well.
Do you see that single piece of wall inbetween your wiz twr, gold storage, de storage and elixir storage ?
Upgrade that single piece of wall, as once that wall is down, 3 more compartment is exposed, which is deadly.
Try to upgrade your walls though, pink walls bases are easy targets.
Decent for your level.
But I don't really like the way you merely enclose those exterior defenses.
Some funneling, great, but they are too exposed.
And try to touch up on the T junctions to account for increase wb splash radius.
And you ought to protect your DE more though. But its your choice.
Nice base tito.
I like the thought process behind your T junction and building placement.
But i'm not sure how reliable is it. Is it very reliable ?
Else I would rather just use that additional piece to extend it to 2 space gap instead of 1 space gap. Even better at pushing back deployment spawn area.
My guess is that many of the attacks will come from your TH area to get the 2 gold + 1 DE.
And nice spreading of your splash towers, though an AD inside your core at that trophy level is abit over kill.
Resource and splash tower allocation reminds me of spike's base.
And yeah, the tesla traps + bombs + spring certainly looks awesome on replays haha.
I would imagine majority of the serious raids to be from the top though, either at your de or top right gold storage.
Then again, I can't live with 4m gold capacity only haha. too little ! >.<
Great segue! This is what I was going to post about.
When changing base designs, I hope to accomplish two things.
1.) Make a base that is unique--something I can call my own.
2.) Make a base that is as effective as possible at defending gold and DE.
There are a lot of really nice desgns out there. I have been really happy with some of my own previosu designs. But when thinking about starting point of a new design, the core, I am looking to achieve a few very specific things. And it is with these things, or requiremnts, that seem to be limiting what my core can be.
Central CC.
Gold/DE to four separate corners, fully enclosed.
Triangle, compact, central Mortar.
Tringle, gold/DE proximal WT.
Central air def.
Doing the above, always brings me back to this:
http://i1187.photobucket.com/albums/...ider2/core.png
Which is of course Jun's now famous core. There is only so much I can do to change this core (actually nothing really) to achieve rule 1, without compromising rule 2, and my criteria?
Am I missing something? Are there other ways to do this?
Edit: Whoa! That is a huge picture!
It's not my base, i'm just promoting it :o It's used by quite a few Ex members, i think Knotty came up with it, he's in Exploited now.
Been working great so far, 140k most lost but that was from major Pekka attack and had all 3 teslas upgrading. To be expected really..
Only the th5 nubs that try to get trophies off me attack from the TH side, "all" serious attackers attack from all the other sides, mostly right bottom now since i replaced my gold storages a bit. No one has been able to 1star me in 11 attacks, including full out TH9 heroes double lightning and rage and a 4 lvl3 pekka attack. Townhall doesn't need to be dead center to have a working hybrid base :)
I'll switch left wiz with mid AD and see what happens.
Haha, I'm in the same boat as well.
Whenever a subscriber ask me to build another farming base I will be like
@.@ how ? You teach me can? LOL..
Another variation that quite a number of people use is this.
http://i37.tinypic.com/nmiwz6.jpg
I don't really like it due to the poor t junction, and once they break into the "core", its really a bigger mess to deal with than our current design haha.
With our current design, even if they took out a compartment, we still have 4 working splash tower.
With that design, once they took out the core, its 3 working splash towers left, even worse if they left 3 mortars inside, leaving 2 splash towers left only.
Another possible core would be the one tito is using.
Typical 6x6 core, follow by 6x3 compartments at the side.
Issue with those is the "cut" base in half theory of mine.
Hehe :p
Any comments regarding the T junction ? Or need to consult the creator of the base himself ? haha..
Regarding it as a hybrid base, well, its pretty clear at your level that most people that farm you for trophies would be low level th aimming for 1250.
High level players would be solely aimming for your resources, so stars doesn't matter.
But yeah, had enough of hybrid base discussion already.
Yup, try switching the AD with wiz tower.
Reasoning is that attackers from the left side, will take down your wiz twr before taking down your storages, hence only left with 2 slow mortars protecting your storages, which will be hard if they had distractions.
But if your wiz towers is inside, then your storages will tank a few hits, while your wiz are zapping at them.
That was one of the concept of my base as well, as most attackers on my base aim for the corners, instead of the side for the "easy gold". So from the sides, my splash towers do not get direct hits from troops. Hence my towers have the luxury of sniping away peacefully :)
But yeah, good job on those black walls :)
@jun (not gonna quote your hole post)
Thanks for the feedback. I will swap my DE and elixer once I have my level 5 troops.
I plan to keep playing with designs, changing the core and changing the outer portion. A lot of the changes I have tried making with the outer portion all decrease splash overlap, or even prevent splash to areas altogether. I see this when attacking. I will see an otherwise nice looking base, but the walls push back my troops to the point where this is either no splash, or very dilute splash. Watching the replays of the above base, seeing troops hit by mortars before they break outer wall, and then seeing them hit by all three mortars at once when they get closer is great.
What you guys think of my new hybrid(?) base. http://i.imgur.com/R3rmoC3.jpg
