The builders huts are in walls to act as wallbreaker decoys. Until the box is opened up or the builders hut is destroyed, wallbreakers will target it if it's closer than the base itself (likely with good spawn boundary management)

Often an attacker will underestimate the distance from which a wallbreaker will be distracted by the decoy. The loss of 2-4 wallbreakers can decide whether or not that goblin rush reaches your core. It's a small investment for potentially large gains.
I am not arguing about the effectiveness of wall breaker decoys, just the way it is constructed in his base.
By building it separate from the main base, you need 24 walls, and it can be destroyed by just one archer as it is unreachable by main base defense.
OTOH, a enclosed builder hut attached to the main base is harder to destroy as the troops have to withstand attacks by the defense. And if you build one outside a L shape corner of a main base, you need only 5 walls instead of 12.
That's good for th8 but with the limited th7 walls, I don't think it's worth it:(

I'm not quite certain how long it took. I started playing COC in October of last year and have definitely been at th7 for a LONG time since I had to upgrade lvl 5 walls from th6 premature upgrade to lvl 7. I want to say I've been th7 since mid January, but I may be off.
I like the symmetry but I don't like the extra wall cushions.
th7's don't have enough walls to effectively utlitize wall cushions.

How am I looking? A definite work-in-progress still. Reckon I'm a good ways through TH7, I did upgrade it too early to begin with, but learned to take more time. I know I need to upgrade some canons and ATs, what else?
