My Quest to Champions as a TH9, LIVE!!

I am going to be doing a quest to 3200! I am a th9 and I am lvl 114. Here is my Base.

Well it is a pretty underlevel Th9 base. I will start my quest at 1600. So basically I am going to be doubling my trophy count!

This is not only me trying to record my progress but for others to see how you can do it and remember I've never been to Champs so this will be fun!

I will try to post everyday about how I am doing and how it feels. You guys can help with some encouragement:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes: and give me strategies that are good or bad, I will try out all of them!

I am just at 1677! Just gathering a few resources in order to help me push. I'm thinking of Hogs till masters and then Ballonian onwards!

Good luck.

Tip: If you're going to be pushing, get an anti-hog base. You'll get wrecked once you hit Crystal League if you don't. Also, try and get some gems, you'll need it once you hit roughly 2900+ to start boosting SF and Heroes if you want to make some progress.

Prepare yourself for 2, 6hr long sessions and mild stress. (Not scaring you, just warning)

Thanks man for replying! Unfortunately no gems, I'm only 14 and my parents are not gonna buy me any gems!! I'll try and beg my parents. Oh if you want to know about my pushing capabilities, I got to masters at th8 just by sniping! I've got school so I will need to get home play 6 hours, get a 16 hour shield and repeat.

Switch to a trophy base. I hate to say it but you should hold off on champion you will get smashed after 2200 trophies. It gets very competive after 2400 trophies and people are constantly trophy pushing and most of them are near max th9s or th10s and with level 6 walls, you will lose more than you gain.

Of course I am going to put my town hall inside, but for a few days I am just getting some loot to push!

We have decided that me and 4 other clan mates are gonna have a race and as I push we are going to have a clan push and gonna try to hit 25,000!

I think your post is brilliant! But the problem isn't pushing to masters, it is pushing to Champion!

I get the logic of putting your th outside as you move towards Champ, but I don't see why a th 9 shouldn't try to win defenses in low master, or at least in crystal. An anti-hog and/or anti-balloonion base should be able to regularly beat the less skilled users of those strategies, many of who hang around at crystal and low master. Also, I would like to point out that putting your th outside isn't automatically admitting defeat, I won a defense in master 2 with my th completely open in a corner.

It is worth a try, but you have the choice either put your town hall outside and hope for a th7/8 to snipe and then "♥♥♥♥ revenge" them or put your town hall inside and pray you win!

Where all these th 7 and 8s who snipe to high crystal while logging off all the time? If you're pushing to Champ, you should be able to hit crystal 1 in your sleep, and I don't see how you're going to revenge snipers up there who are constantly on.

Gonna start my push on Monday morning.... that's when our "race" begins! Guys please help me on my base! Is this fine.

Just remember to skip if you're unsure of a base, dont get caught getting 49% and losing trophys, gems will help you grind through the terrible cup offers of 3100-3200, and stay online as much a possible, which is kinda a given, we all know th9 wont get far defense wise 2800+, also once you get to champ, keep going! Cup offers get better for a while and enjoy it while your up there !

With that base, you will get demolished everytime, I suggest you upgrade those defenses and walls first b4 you push

It would be really difficult for you to make it to champ. With no gems, low level def, not max troops and maybe low level heroes (cant tell by the small pic) its stacked against you. You wont win any defs and the revenges will murder you. Once you hit 2800 (if you can make it that far) you will only see th10s and be getting 1 star if you are lucky with loons on those bases, and they will be licking their chops attacking you. If you dont boost your spell factory I dont think you can do it.

You can always use FreeMyApps, AppBounty, or AppNana to get at least a $10 iTunes giftcard which is very much sufficient to boost your spells and heroes to Champs.

Remember: Attacking > Defending when it comes to making trophies. As long as he makes enough trophies to cover what he lost in his Attacking sessions as well as give enough leeway before he signs off on defense, he should be in the clear.

If >TH8's can do it, so can a premature TH9+

Wish I wasn't so pessimistic...but theres no way you're gonna make it to champ. Reasons: Your under leveled base (badly premature), you don't have gems, you're a town hall 9 = No infernos, less army space, some troops aren't max level, and most of all only around 1/25 TH9 players can reach champ (my best guess but just saying its a rarity)

I tried Appbounty and Freemyapps but they just take too long! Anyway my school exam results are gonna come out, If they are brilliant I might be looking at buying 5000 gems!

Well, good luck is all I can say. Once you hit 2400, it starts to get a lot harder. Don't even get me started on 2800+, which is basically where most people start to quit.

Thanks guys, I am gonna see a huge shift in difficulty once i enter masters 2..... I'm kinda nervous!

I'm at crystal, my exams are over so expect me to be in Masters in a week or so!


Guys quick question, should I save up for Lvl 5 minions, get Lvl 4 Queen or save it to use for hog raids whilst pushing!

Guys also I'm trying to add a picture and it says the file can't fit! I went down to attackments and it says my attachment stotage is full so how do I delete photos?

800 trophies left till Champs, still going at sniping. I train 1 barrack giants, 1 barrack Barbs and 2 Barracks Archers. Number of snipable Town halls has decreased but still going smooothly.

Thanks Afronife! Yeah Town hall sniping is alright until you hit masters, you could still snipe till champs, but it takes a long time to search. I will bring a hog army once I hit masters to get to 2800 and if I find any snipes I will take them, and then balloonian from 2800-3200, hopefully I will be done within the next two weeks or so!

Yeah lol, but I have no gems and my phone is taken away after 10pm and given to me at 6am and I go to School

It took me 5 days to get from 2400 to 3200 as a th 9. U can get to 2800 pretty quickly if use hogs on th 9s and inactives. U will stop finding dead bases around 2800 so u will need to switch to loonion or barch and start going for 1 star victories. I recommend having at least 500 gems to boost heroes and spells as raiding without all of them can be fatal. I did get away with only bringing 3 spells if I was using loons but bring all 4 just to be safe.

And throw the 6 hour session stuff to the wind, i never played for more than 4 hrs straight and I got to champ just fine. Just whenever u break ur shield make sure u know u can get enough trophies for ur last defence and make enough so after ur next defence ull be higher than ur last defensive loss. And once u pass 3000 trophies put ur townhall outside, I did this and players from 3600+ trophies would snipe me for -1 trophy. Dont put it out before then tho as ull be giving away free cups. Hope this helps

I cant tell u how many times my attacks came down to the wire. Sometimes its just better to be lucky that to be good

If u hope to reach champ u will need at least some gems to boost spells/heroes.

Been around a week and I've just sniped my way to Masters, 1000 trophies in a week

How do you do a Balloon raid in masters and above? Please as much detail cause I am getting balloons lvl 6 in a few hours! How many balloons minions and how to raid, please help

I'm currently a TH9 at Master II (2843 trophies). I took my time to max my base, with only level 9 walls and heroes to go. I reckon after my clan push, I'm about 2-4 weeks from TH10.

Just a quick note on how I went on my push... I started my push from 2100 as I farm there. Then, I hogged all the way to 2800 in 3 days, being very active and raiding a lot.

Personally, I'm not really trying for Master 1. I'm using balloonion now... yesterday I lost 19 trophies due to an "out of sync error" which made me lost connection. This dropped me down to 2424, won a TH snipe (5 cups) then lost 16 trophies due to me in a bad mood after the first lost. I went offline and won 30 trophies from a defense (yes, up in Master 2!) and now back to my personal best, 2843.

Good luck with your push, be sure to watch MYSTLC7's guide to masters/champion league for TH9s. :)

I think you misunderstand when I say I'm gonna play for 6 hours straight. When I say that, I mean having my phone on for 6 hours, while troops train I will do other things like Homework and then when troops ready I will raid, but I'll keep it on son I can't get raided.

Currently at 2866 trophies, peaked at 2920 cups. Last night, I lost at 49% (1 second from 50%) and then lost 2 defense wins, -23 and -11 both two stars...

Not sure whats up with me, but I lost 3-4 49%, all of them were one or two second/shot from 50%! If it weren't for all of that, I would probably be Master 1! :(

You won't be able to reach champion with a base like this!

For gems, use Freemyapps to get $10 itunes cards. I'm about to get my second one. Just google it on your phone/ipad/iphone.
On my first device, freemyapps only took me 4 days to get a $10 card.

I try every strategy, Balloons, all drags and so on, but I think the easiest way to push is sniping, in around 3-4 hours, I have gotten 150 trophies with no losses, I keep clicking next until I see a snipe!

♥♥♥♥. TH7 only has 200. Say it properly if you meant + castle space.

My clan did a push over a season and found a dozen or so town halls to snipe...everyone at least in masters so if you think you are gonna snipe your way through masters... you are wrong! You will not produce enough gold to snipe your way through by even the end of july. Good luck with your push tho. Im strugglin at 3045 trophies with a nearly maxed th10 with exception of walls and heroes and couple defenses... it gets ridiculous up here. Very very few dead bases as well.

Also to add... defense losing isnt the problem... its when you lose a raid... you better only raid bases you are sure to win. Lose 2 in a row and ur down 40 or 50 trophies... that gets hard to recover from

I have a neat trick that helps me find a snipable town hall within 10 minutes if I am unlucky!

2hrs? You meant 20 minutes right?, from gold 3 to crystal for me would be like 20 mins in boosted barracks

I know you are supposed to fill gold storages before pushing but im telling you... you will use 8 mil in gold looking for easy bases.... im sorry but even a dead base is not a walk in the park for a th8... dead bases are still better than a maxed th8... good luck bud

20 minutes? That is complete rubbish, Yes it would take 2 hours with boosted barracks, you can't gain 600 cups in 20 minutes haha!

I know you are supposed to fill gold storages before pushing but im telling you... you will use 8 mil in gold looking for easy bases.... im sorry but even a dead base is not a walk in the park for a th8... dead bases are still better than a maxed th8... good luck bud

I'm at 2800 just by sniping, sometimes it takes quite a while to find a snipable Town Hall but mostly it s fine up here, I think I might have to vary my strategy now!

Yeah there are plenty of low town hall that have pushed very high, and I would say it is impossible to do it without gems and also I would say they have more then 1 player playing on the device so they can play 24/7

Sniping, I see no reason why it can not be a plausible way of pushing, just bring some giants for the infernos!
