Starting to hit "the wall"

Loot penalty isn't all that bad after you get used to it at tow hall 9, I'm slowly trying to get things nice and leveled up but at the time there was no loot penalty but I didn't start going upgrading my town hall all willy nilly until after th7 .... It's not as bad as it seems since I have level 6 troops...

I was dreading the move to TH8 but tbh I found it no problem. I moved down to around 1150-1250 and the hustings been. Great to me.

OP welcome to my world, the shortest defensive upgrade I have left is 5mil gold and 7 days.....the longest 14 days, the last half mile is quite hard work at 150k gold a raid

i still make between 3 and 5m per day at TH9..

I felt the same.
But from of now my clan has a trophie hunt every first week of the month.
Monday starts the first. I cant wait. Im curious how high we can reach.

It was defo hard to get used to th9 but now it's pretty easy to get loot only problem is all my upgrades now cost 5 mil and above so taking longer . Ps how do u guys get your gc name and lvl in the text like doom has above

Regarding loot, there is nothing hard about farming at th9 v.s. th8 v.s. th7, just that as you go up in th, you need marginally better troops for raiding as you face harder bases, and you get marginally lower loots (due to the penalty). The biggest issue with th9 is, as Daddy points out, upgrades take sooooo much gold (and the lesser issue of longer times, which is actually well offset by the extra farming time required to get all the gold).

For me, farming at th9 became very boring/monotonous, and I realized that I could play poker during that time and make more than enough $ to just buy my upgrades! Yes, all my gems are purchased with poker money ;) If you are good at poker I recommend this strategy, if you are bad at poker, I invite you to my home game and we will teach you ;)

This sounds like me! I was th7 for only 8 days - yes, that's the upgrade time for th8 lol - and I missed out on all the good stuff. Loot penalty existed but I didn't know :(
I had lvl 4/5 walls and lvl3/4 troops I think, but now th8 is maxed except one archer tower and walls ( lvl 7)
I think it took me 5 months at th8 haha
