IMO Mr. T's the best for farming :)

I think a Mr. T raids more rescources per unit time than a minion does too, so that point is based on opinions ;p

I run 120 barbs, 40 archers, 40 gobs. I back up my comment with my actions. Cheap/quick/effective is the way I go.

This is very odd metric to use.

Cost per housing space is a much better metric. Efficiency for farming means fielding the cheapest army in the least time, with time being the more critical component. More raids per hour = more resources.

Plenty of them used all goblins especially for sub 200 farming. While that may seem contradictory to my earlier statement, it isn't. Goblins are far more efficient farmers meaning one has to deploy fewer of them per raid.

As everyone would agree, time is a farmers biggest concern, but everybody already knows that; it's the foundation of a farmer: quick, efficient raids. But when zach started about the costs I thought it would be nice to go into that matter, because that was the only thing we were disagreeing on :) I didn't go into a matter where everyone including me agrees on (the time matter), because then I don't learn as much and we don't get a thread full of new information!

I vote for minions. Fast to train, nice supplement for normal army. Sort of like mini-wizards, and can only be attacked by some defenses.

No farmers use DE troops but when you refer to cost, it is by housing space not training time making Minions cheaper so if anything I'd use them.

Dark Minions of course. They are the new OP.

So it seems like the main response I'm getting is that Minions are the best choice because they're relatively cheap in terms of DE, pop-space, and time requirement, and that they can only be attacked by AA. They are the farmers' unit of choice.

What if someone's goal is, say, to three-start opponents as often as possible? Are minions still the best?

And do Minions become less effective at higher levels due to the proliferation of air defenses and the usage of the red balloon bombs?

What if you had to choose between just Hog Riders and Valkyries?
