The Better Tank: Golem, Or Giant?
The better Tank: Golem or Giant
1.Introduction
Many debate whether to use Golem’s or Giant’s as tanks. I’m here to break it down. To start off, I want to say I’ll be comparing the stats between the level 6 giant, and level 5 golem and keeping score to determine who wins each category. To do this, I will multiple the giant’s stats by 6, equaling 30 troop capacity space, as much as a golem’s.
2.Troop cost and training
It’s hard to compare a dark elixir troop to a regular elixir troop, but, if you look at the info of a Dark Elixir storage, it says Dark elixir is three times as powerful. So, if the level 6 giant cost three thousand elixir, I will need to divide that by 3 giving me 1 thousand. Then, I will need to multiply 1,000 by 6 again because 6 giants equals 1 golem in troop capacity space. 1,000 x 6= 6,000 Dark elixir. A golem level 5 cost 750 DE. Golem wins this topic. But with troop training, the golem takes a total of 45 minutes. 1 giant takes two minutes, but you have to multiply it by 6 again to equal the 30 troop capacity space. 2x 6= 12 minutes. But, you can also break down that 12 minutes by splitting up the barracks. The giant wins this comparison. Score so far: Giant 1, Golem 1
3.Movement speed
When it comes down to movement speed, the two troops are identical. Both troops move with the speed of 12. The score will stay the same.
4.Damage per second & Attack speed
The golem’s damage per second is 54. The giant’s is about 43, but you have to multiply it by 6 to have equal comparison. 43 x 6= 258 dmg/s. The giants win this category, moving the score up to giants 2, and golem’s 1. Attack speed isalso crucial, it’s the amount of time the troop needs before hitting the opponentagain. The golem’s matches up around 2.4/s. This is an individual stat, so wewill not have to multiply this for the giants 2/s. Of course, you want moreattack, so the lower the time the better. Giant wins this category, again.Score: Giant: 3, Golem: 1.
5.Hitpoints
The golem, known as the biggest hit taking troop inthe game, can take 6,300 damage. But when breaking up into 2 golemites, he gets 1,260 per golemite. 1,260 x 2 + 6,300 equal a total of 8,820 hitpoints, with the nerf of attacking stats from the golemites. The giant on the other hand, can take 940 damage. But multiply that by 6 still gets you only 5,640 damage for 6 giants. The golem wins this category, making the score: Giant, 3, Golem,2.
6.Traps
Spring traps can take a total of 15 army space out. Too small for a golem, but not for 3 giants. Golem wins this catergory: Golem: 3, Giant: 3.
7.Conclusion
These troops stats are so similar in ways, but so different in others, so why don’t higher level players use 6 giants instead of golems? Mainly as tanks, and for the fact of the spring traps. Golem’s explode into golemite’s, dealing a little bit of damage, giving more defense and protection.
