Would this be a good idea?

Okay, so if you saw my thread awhile ago, I experienced a glitch when I purchased gems and got a lot more than what I intended to get. Just now Supercell reset my base back to before the purchase and now I have 2660 gems to spend, since they gave me extra gems for the inconvenience (which is nice of them). Before the reset I was nearly maxed out with only some troop upgrades...

Now I got all my point defenses, my air defenses... A LOT. And to make the process of farming less frustrating I thought I would just spend my gems on maxing out my barracks and some troop upgrades, since those would put me at a disadvantage if I waited even more for those to finish up.

Should I just do the upgrades that take the longest, like all the dark elixir upgrades?
