Solving the problem with players not participating in clanwars

First, I need to apologize for my english, as it is not my first language.

Ive been hearing from alot of people that their clans are having problems getting everyone to commit to both, if any, attacks in clan wars. I have seen quite alot of frustration related to this, as many clans loose the war solely because of the lack of participation. My own clan, which I consider to be a pretty great one, is close to breaking apart because of this. We tried to creat an "underclan", a cw-clan that those of us, who wanted to fight in cw, went to to fight and come back between the attacks and/or after the war. But its just to much hassle.

Now, I havent waded through all the suggestions here, but in my opinion it would be great if supercell could make it so that whenever we wanted to go to war, those who wanted it had to "log on to" the war map or something similar. This way, everyone could stay in the same clan, and the clans would get as close to 100% participation as possible (as far as I can see).

And supercells servers wouldnt have to work with as many clans, maybe reducing the workload? I dont know if thats even an issue though.

The way I think I would do it is like this:

Instead of starting the search for a matching clan right away, the Leader or assisting leader presses the cw button. This opens up the clanwar map, but of course only for their own clan. Thos who want to join, go in to the map, find their base, and press what would have to be a new button that said something like "Join the war".
When the warclan has gotten enough players to join, the leader or assisting leader THEN press the search for matching clan button.

I have to admit I really like this idea, and I am very curious of what others think of this?

I am also new to posting in this (actually any) forum, but Im gonna try to create a poll so that people can vote on whether or not they find this suggestion a good one. However, I have no clue as to how to do it, so if you see something weird below or above here, that is probably it :)))

I like it, but many clans, including mine, have members all around the world and it would be hard for us to click join warm, are you saying that the 10 best people can join war and the rest don't take part?

nonono. The way I see it, all who join can play. Of course, as long as the clan meets the requirements for how many players they have to/can have in a war (10,15,20,25,30etc)

But can't clans just have a 10 man war with the best players and who confirms when you want to start war?

I see now that (as I kind of expected) that im not the only one with an idea like this, but come on guys, the more people to vote for or against, the better the grounds for supercell to make a decision

You need to decide whether you want a war clan, non-war clan, or a clan that is a casual mix of both and recruit players for that purpose. If you want players that war, but you have players that don't boot them out. It really is as simple as that. If you don't the players that do want to win wars will feel like you aren't sticking up for them and leave. This is why your clan is "tearing itself apart". Just decide what you want to do and take steps to make it happen or stop complaining. If you are unwilling to direct the growth of your clan you will always be full of whoever shows up.

But with this, or a similar, system we wouldnt have to choose. Most of the people in my clan enjoy cw and some of us really dont. However, we all enjoy each others company. And seeing it as there already is the possibility to enter a was with as little as 10 or 15 people, why not make it easier for people. We enjoy coc, but my clan (and may others) arent THAT serious about it that they want to be as rigid about it as you suggest.

Another thing. Where in this thread do you see me complaining? Im making a suggestion under "Ideas & Feature requests" and giving the background for my suggestion. If that is complaining to you, maybe you shouldnt be reading this part of the forum? No offense, just saying

Yes! But why not make CW more efficient? I really cant see there being a problem with a function that makes it so that one doesnt have to kick people out. Are you saying you do NOT want this and want to continue kicking people?
im just suggesting an improvement that would save a lot of people grief, and time. Im not saying its the end of the world, but it would make alt of poppe happy:))

My clan has been having participation issues as well. I think each member should by default be opted out of wars. Each user that wants to participate in wars should be able to opt in to wars. They will remain opted in to future wars until they opt out. If an opted in user does not participate in a given war, they will be automatically opted out until they opt in again. Each user will have a status of opted in or opted out. There may need to be limit that a clan must have a specific number of members opted in i.e. 5,10,15,20 or something like that. In either case this would reduce some issues.

I don't like this idea for a multitude of reasons:

1. As someone mentioned before, you must join/create a clan with people that have the same interests as you (farming, trophy pushing, or warring). It sounds like people in your clan enjoy winning wars or farming more so than each others company.

2. For most clans this would not sit well with the members, especially active war clans. Our clan is composed of people from all over the world. Every single one of us works or goes to school, so it may take up to a day just for everyone to "log in" as you put it. In a war clan, most want to start a war rather quickly after the last war ended and nobody wants to get left out.

3. With the war as it is, with a prep day and battle day, this gives every member a good amount of time to maybe scout the base he/she wants to attack and train their troops/spells. In my opinion, if you can't get on for 5 minutes, 4 different times to use both attacks and train both your armies for war ONCE every two days at the most, (clans that war continuously) then you are too casual of a player for war.

Yes. This is exactly what we are saying. Recruit and reward people who fit the type of clan you want to have. The problem you have here is clan members who don't want to play the game the way you want your clan to work. No tool, utility, button, box of chocolates, free tickets to the next One Direction concert or anything else is going to fix that. Find like minded players and succeed together, or find anybody who will fill a roster spot and enjoy whatever success you can find. Don't complain about the dynamic you have built and ask SC to fix it with a button. There is no way to fix your clan except leadership.

Besides, there are far more beneficial efforts that the SC developers can work on to improve wars. Things that add a strategy dynamic like the ability to call dibs on a target, or have matches assigned/suggested by the clan leaders, or ways to prevent and/or identify sabotage from within like a donation filter to prevent junk donations or notification of who donated to your war castle so people who donate gobs and wall breakers can be kicked, etc. Yes, kicked. I don't understand why this is such a taboo subject. If a member of your clan doesn't fit in your clan get rid of them! If you don't you loose the right to complain and you may loose other players because you didn't get rid of the problem.
