I find that very, very hard to believe. If you are spanking players with 2300 trophies 95% of the time and doing so without dragons / pekkas / balloons, then you should be one of the top players in the game. I know this because I have seen "normal" armies crushed in seconds when they come up against players in the 2000-2500 range...crushed!

If you only have L4 Barbs, I am thinking you dont yet have L5 Wallbreakers. If that is true, how are you getting past the L8 walls with 3000 hit-points? You'd need about 30 barbs targeting one specific block just to make it through in less than 10 seconds and the odds of that happening without a mortar landing on you are slim to none (If their base is rubbish, they'd not be at 2.3k trophies). Lets assume you did make it through - that would only get you into a section of their base, so how do you make it to the town hall??

Anyway, we are off topic so will agree to disagree unless you fancy posting a video of one of these against the odds victories?

That is having 5 builders. Imagine 5 days with max pumps will give you 2m+ resources. That is just enough for your next upgrade given you also farm.

Okay makes sense...especially about the giving more into circulation...I will spend some time doing pump / mine upgrades because I am starting to feel the burn of long builds slowing things down...And I am a "Free" player so only have 3 builders...They need to get with Tapjoy and make my life easier!! lol

You must be really skilled. I have level 5 barb, and archers and don't work against trophy range 1500+, I have to use Giants past 1500. Maybe I still suck at raiding. ;)

He's just talented ,but not a gem rusher ... In order to get past 2300, you need to gem rush .... If you want to play free , are fairly advanced , and have above average strategy ,you can get to 2300 without gems

A Top 50 player that plays for free doesn't exist

His point was not that he was in the 2300 trophy range, it was that he is in the 1700 range but beating players in the 2300 area 95% of the time. (Thus saying there is no need to farm because getting lots of resource is not a problem). I find that impossible to believe, especially considering he says he does not need to use advanced troops...

I am an advanced free player, and I can say hand on heart that farming is much quicker than playing normally if you want to accumulate gold. Its also amazing to grow elixir stores...That said, im coming back up the ranks now but will dip again when i need resource...

Giants, Archer, Wall breakers gets hard mostly past 1900, I also find it hard to believe level 4 barbs and level 5 archer would stand a chance against these guys. Maybe it's do-able but require very very good deployment and timing skills.

I will reword it then. I was winning 95% of my attacks against everyone within 1300-2300 trophies. I fight those with 2300 trophies when I see them but this happened once or twice a day. Also, you asked how I would get to their town hall, but since when was it required to get to their town hall to win? Winning only requires 50% of a base destroyed, what use is there of going for 100% with an army that takes much longer. Even against a +2000 person, I gain 10-15 trophies for a 50% victory. You ask how I get through the walls of a base. Well, I usually get through one layer of walls but then my barbs and archers (especially these) start getting crushed by wizard towers. Mortars are really easy to take on, it is wizard towers that cause havoc to my army, but wizard towers are usually placed in the inner part of bases. Barbs aren't meant to be doing anything for me except doing the tanking for my archers. To me, barbs are just better versions of giants, especially when they took 20s to build compared to a giants 2mins. In my opinion, 5 barbs are better than 1 giant. I never destroy a town hall with my army against the 2000+ players because wizard towers are unavoidable. I just aim for 50% which still gives 15 trophies but I also never went past 1900 because I lost battles on purpose when I got over 1800 because I loved the loot where it was 1700-1800. But I decided to go farm because I am going on holiday soon and I don't plan on playing CoC there.
