There are always a lot of threads about "Should I go to th10?" I read them all, then I went back and reread them. I'm on the wall grind now, so my biggest question is always:
"If you went to th10 with lvl 8 or 9 walls, do you actually regret it later?"
If you have full lvl 8 walls, with a few legos to mix in, then you should be set.
But for me, I am getting a full set of lavas :)
I feel it really depends on where your base progress is at in comparison to your walls.
If you are 95% done maxing your offenses and defenses and you are 75% done your lego walls, I would probably finish off the lego walls before hitting TH10.
If your base is the same progress as above, but you only have 10% lava walls and the rest lego, I would not wait to complete the rest of the lavas before moving to TH10.
You have to consider how important sleeping builders mean towards the completion of your walls.
I was willing to let most of my builders sleep for 2.5 months while I finished legos. That was tough for me, but worth it.
Now, I have 4 days left before I my TH goes to 10, and I have 6 skull walls left to turn into legos. It has been a long wait, and honestly, waiting for lavas would take another half year or so, and to me, half a year of TH10 upgrades means way more to me than having lava walls instead of legos. Full legos is already better than ~97% of the TH10s in crystal league. I can sleep well knowing that. And the fact that I no longer have to look at those god-awful skullies.
I'm TH10 since a bit more than one month and still has lvl 7 walls. Anyway they're pretty useless against hog attacks (when both infernos are upgrading, you're getting attacked by hogs a looooot). I'll upgrade them when all my defs are maxed.
If you plan on pushing for 4k+ cups id max walls because they're very helpful.. But under that i think legos would suffice
I went to th 10 with almost all level 8s and a few level 7s. I don't regret not doing walls, but I do regret not doing heroes. Mine were 12-15 when I upgraded, and getting them up to at least 25 (doing some walls with any gold I got along the way) would've been a very good idea.
Why do the heroes need to be to 25? Just because of build time? Because I read that dark elixir is much more plentiful as a town hall 10 farming above 2000. My heroes are 15 and 17 and I already grow weary of the grind :)Quote:

I can count on my hands how many times I was attacked for more than 200k this year. And everytime it was because my infernos were upgrading.
As long as you have level 8 walls, you can get to any TH level you want. I prefer to see a clanmate with dual infernos and level 8 walls and a TH9 with lego walls that can be 3 stared by a mass hog raid.
I'm not talking about the TH10 with gold and pink walls all over.
I'm not there yet by any means (still quite a ways from maxing in TH9). But it seems to me that when you're talking about hogs and loonions walls are a moot point. I guess there is GoWiwi/pe, but that seems like a really high level attack that you won't see much in crystal and early masters.
For clan wars, infernos and the extra bow would be nice. But it's this type of thinking that sent me to TH9 (a bit) early. I just haven't faced much GoW--- and so walls seem like a status symbol at 125 million or more for a complete set.
Again, I'm not speaking from any position of authority, so please don't slam me. I'm just saying how it seems from down here. I defer to all more knowledgeable folks.
I got plenty of dark at th 9, but maybe that's just me. I recommend upgrading heroes both because they're quite powerful (huge help in wars and while pushing), and the grind doesn't get much easier at th 10, especially when you have max def and are staring at months and months of just upping heroes and walls without anything to look forward to after that.Quote:

I had legos and maybe five lavas done on fully max defense th9. I regret not doing heros more than walls, but i could not let builders go idle. Ive done a dozen or so more lavas and I am getting both heroes to 20 about 6 weeks into th10, so all in all no regrets.
