a th7 war base., i can 2star both 7, 8. but i dont know what im doing wrong. i look at my replys to try to improve. i even scout a base for about 20mins and plan it out.
ihave an 180 army space. (185now, 190, in 10hrs, and 195 in 2days)
i use 6drags (lvl1), 20minions(lvl1) and the rest archers (lvl4) rage and a heal spell. oooh and the BK.
my strategy is usually taking out the weakest air defense and go from there.
l usually just 2star.
any tips my fellow vets?
Upgrade your dragons, take max loons in cc.
Upgrade your army camps like you are doing and see that extra 20 spaces prolly be the difference between the 2 and 3 star.
yeah i know what you mean, i should be at 195 army space now. just needa upgrade the last army camp. suggestion? use that twenty for another drag or archers?Quote:

Agree, take drags and get max balloons from someone in your clan. Take rage spells.
1) Pick bases with lower level air defenses.
2) Pick bases with clan castles near outside. Take a minion or two to draw out archers/wizards/drags and then unleash most drags plus rage on clan troops near edge of base you start from. They can take out troops and edge structures quickly with one rage. Drop those CC balloons near the rage as clan troops are nearly gone. Use other rages when drags are in range of air defenses.
3) If possible, use a minion or two or archers to snipe any structures that are out of range of defenses.
4) Reserve 1-3 dragons to drop a little later, so that if some of the dragons are circling the base, last dragons can head toward the middle...

clarify a couple of things, i should lure cc troops to corner and drop drags and use a rage spell so the drags kill the cc troops? wouldnt that be a waste of a rage? unless youre telling me to take 3rage spells.Quote:

Agreed. To get 3 stars a lot of things need to go right and you need to manage your time very well. Dragons are a good choice to get 2 stars but I find they rarely get 3 stars. Unfortunately as a th7 you probably don't have any better options.Quote:

I think you need to either go full air or full ground.
if you go full air then leave out the minions, they work well on clean up with balloons which target defences, but dragons and minions both target everything so no point in mixing these. If you use mass dragons don't worry about the cc troops
If you want a ground strategy then you do need to lure the cc. I think Your best option here would be giant + wizard.
Hungdaddy: Here is my guide for you to get your first 3 star against th7 base.
Even with your current space take:
7 drags
20 minions
3 lightning spells
Drag/more minions in CC
1. Take out the highest lvl AD with lightning spells
2. Drop drags in a line but not to far apart nearest the the second ad
3. let drags get in a little bit or once ad starts targeting them then deploy minions behind them
4. Save bk for cleanup on any buildings and cc if you see need for it on some part of the base.
5. Sit back drink a beer
Mass drags against a th7 is like mass hogs against a th8, they can do their best to stop it but just not enough defenses. You can use my guide against th8's as well with underdeveloped ad's and when you get troop space to 200.
Use this composition:
8 Dragons
1 CC Dragon
10 Minions
3 Lightning
Barb King
The basics of this attack is to lightning the hardest to reach air defense. Then clearing the path to the remaining 2 air defenses.
So:
- 3 lightning the hardest to reach AD
- then choose the best side to attack that will get your dragons to the other two ADs the fastest
- use the minions and the barb king to clear some outside buildings on that side
- spread dragons out across that side and if they can get to the 2 ADs while not losing too many it's usually a 3 star

Have nothing but drags, any other troop is a waste of space. That includes a drag in your cc. If the ADs are on the edge of the base, zap one and release your drags close to the other. If they are more cantered, you use rage once your drags get close to them. No need to worry about cc troops, your drags will take care of them.
But, and this is crucial: do not spam the drags all in one point. It's vital to spread them out, in a line if you're going in from one side, or a v-shape if you're going in in a corner. If you release your drags in one space, they will split into two groups and go around the outside of the base, usually leaving the TH and one AD standing. Release them in a line and they will move forward into the center of the base. They are programmed to move sideways, but if they have a neighbour taking out stuff, they have to move forward instead.
I'm th7, I use mass drag for all my cw attacks, and get 3 stars every single time. They are by far the best army at th7.

Knowing that you have drags is a good thing. Do you have access to level 2 drags at your TH level? You didn't mention what level your TH is.
That being said, I would go all dragons.
Anyway, what I would recommend to you is this:
1. Ditch the archers if you are using dragons. Having both air and ground troops in one raid is generally a bad idea and, since drags are the nut for wars, I would axe the archers.
2. Make as many dragons as you possibly can. I think TH7 can have up to 200 space in maxxed army camps (10 dragons). I think its 190 at TH6 (9 drags+10 space). Just fill the rest of the space with minions.
3. Ask for either a max dragon or max balloons in your offensive CC from clan mates. Then, try and find a base that has an exposed AD. Drop the CC there to take out that exposed AD before launching the rest of you dragons.
4. If you have your BK, I suggest using him to clear trash buildings that are in front of ADs. If you use the BK to clear the trash, it allows the drags to head straight in to the AD and take it out, prolonging your dragon's life span. The key to winning with dragons is just making sure that your drags outlast their ADs and archer towers. The quicker the ADs go down the higher your 3 star % chance.
5. As others have mentioned before, make sure you spread your dragons out. Using a V formation works really well because it makes the dragons converge to the center of the V. This makes it easier to penetrate the center of a base and also makes it easier to drop correctly drop your spells.
6. Spells. Depending on the opponent you choose, lightnings or rage/heals are the way to go.
Lightning:
If they have a really low level AD take 3 lightning and zap it. Double check the level on clash wiki as well as the level of your lightning spells to make sure 3 will do the job. Nothing worse than dropping 3 lightnings and having them not actually destroy the AD. I know, I have done it. Also, if you are going to ZAP and you are sure 3 spells will do it, make sure you zap the AD that is the hardest to get to. Then launch drags at the more exposed AD.
Rage/Heal:
If your opponents ADs are too high level, you should consider using Rage and Heal spells. This is what I use for my dragon raids. I use the rage spells to help the guide the dragons into the ADs. Clear trash, spread dragons out and drop rage as they head into the AD. Heals are good if you are trying to get to ADs in the core of a base but only if you can keep your drags clumped together.
Anyway, all I ever use in clan wars are dragons so I have a lot of experience with them. They can be frustrating to pilot at first but with time and practice they can wreck bases. I am currently a TH8 and I 3 star TH9s all the time and very frequently 2 star TH10s if planned correctly.

I often use the same strategy as BigPapi and junyab, with 3 lightning spells to take out the hardest AD and then deploying as close to the other as possible. I find this more effective than rage/heal because ADs are really the only thing that can stop the dragons, so if you can take one out before the battle starts, and the second very quickly, you won't need rage or heal.
Another strategy I have used against TH8s with 3 ADs that has worked OK is to bring 8-10 balloons along. Again, lightning the hardest AD and deploy the dragons next to the easiest to take out. As the dragons approach the final AD, as soon as it starts firing at the dragons, deploy the balloons from the opposite side. If done correctly, the balloons will reach the AD while it is still firing at dragons and destroy it. The biggest thing is to only use this if there are few, or none, other defenses between the balloons and the AD. They will go to the nearest defense, so if there are other defenses between them and the AD, they may get distracted and go a completely different way.

Honestly when I was a th 7 i found the easiest way to 3 star was to use loonian... rage spells necessary
got my first three star! took points from most if not all of you. i spread then to into a line raged when close took nine drags and one in cc and 20archers to lure out CC TROOPS. thanks for the help.Quote:

I use the iDiot strategy (dragon). Some says just spray and pray (quoted from peabak).
But it does take some skills to deploy dragons correctly.
A while ago while I'm using L2 dragons. 10x + 1x in CC.
You may use 9x + 1x, until you max your camps.
Add in 2x rage + 1x heal. Use when necessary. Watch youtube.
e.g. add rage when closing in AD while being fired at.
It should be a 3-star walkover when attacking TH7 with well-placed L4 AD or lower. Spray in a line at one side.
