Door #1?

Just a curiosity. How do folks approach the first (or first few) villages that appear after choosing to attack? If you see a nice village right away, do you take the bird in the hand or hold out for two in the bush? Obviously if you see 300k/300k/1000K gold/Elixir/DE then you jump on it, but what about something less, but still good?

Here is an example: I typically would like 200k/200k, but this is not always reality. If I have been hitting next a bunch of times and the table seems cold, I will certainly settle for less (and very often do). Unless the road is very easy, I won't bother with less then 150K/150K (also unless the table is very cold, as it was yesterday right after the wall release and everyone dumped their gold into the new walls).

Here is a village example--I got this on my first click. Pretty easy village, and 150k/150k. But maybe what is behind door #2 is better.....:)

I should answer my question as well. I am a gambler (and often pay the price I think) as I was very tempted to pass on the above village, but I did not (this time). I will very often keep hitting next, waiting (and paying) for the "big one". I guess the "big take" is more fun than the many small takes (although I do a lot of those too).

Well, it's pot luck. If you keep clicking next you'll find another similar, eventually.

If its an easy base I will settle for 100/100, but for more difficult ones it has to be at least 150/150.

1) Why do you use an all arch attack?
2) That isn't an easy base.
3) I don't gamble; so i take what i get...

I only tackle a base in the first 5 clicks if it is boxy and has a large open interior with a loot around 100k because I know I won't have to use all my troops.

If not then I just click next till a see a base I know I can at least get to the gold & elixer with at minimun 150k.

At the trophy range I'm at (1300) I've been seeing some BIG loots so have been clicking like 40-50 times to get a base with 300K+ loot.

1.) My new(ish) thing is 192 archers and 4 wbs. The archers are very fast to produce so I can attack more frequently. I now use wall breakers with them (bring 4, often use only one or two, so retraining time is minimal). I only need to punch through one wall as the archers can shoot over the second. This works very, very well for me.

2.) This is a very, very easy base for me. Not bragging at all. The gold walls mean one wb to punch through. I spread some archers out to take out exterior defensive buildings and to dissipate enemy fire. Then while this is happening/nearly done, I punch one hole in each side (southwest and northeast) and dump archers in. The archers take out what is remaining inside and can then shoot over the pink walls to reach the storages.

3.) Interesting. I sometimes feel like I should do just this and gamble less. At $500 gold per next, it adds up.

If it is easy and a nice loot, I take it.

PS: It is an easy base depending on your troops/strategy.

I look at it from the perspective of loot/hour. If it's a 200k/200k base, but everything's in storage that are well defended, I usually don't bother. If it's a 50k/50k base, but it looks like I can take everything with 20-30 archers, I'll probably go for it - by the time I'm done attacking, my queued up archers would be just about done, and I can jump right back in to another raid. Anything 300k and above I'll definitely go for, since it's likely most loot are in the collectors, and I'm likely to walk away with most of that 300k.

Basically, it's a judgment call on time spent vs. loot gained.

It depends on how much effort i need to put in.

I'll take as low as 100k/100k if i can do it without giants, wb, and cc troops

I'll skip 120k/120k if i need more than 40k worth of spells.

150k/150k is okay if i only need one rage spell.

Basically i'll hit anything above 250k/250k with everything i got.

Usually if it's 100 and fairly easy ill take it because you never know what you will get and the money spent on searching really starts to add up.
