I think the only way this could not be OP is if it only covered 1 building, and then it might not be worth the point of having it, one of those things were its either OP or basically useless, but i do like the idea in spite of this, ironicaLLY.

I think this Obelisk should show its radius before you start a raid so you know where you can't but a spell down, It won't be OP, but it does depend heavily on the radius

Yes, I guess reducing the effect/duration of a spell instead of completely cancelling the spell would work.
Since there is really no way to counter spells and since troops can destroy a low-HP obelisk easily I don't think it needs a counter? :o

So max one obelisk a person and upgradable to 2 levels with a reduce in efficacy of spells of 40% and 50% respectively?
I think once people start having their own obelisks they'll realise the range. Besides it would be mentioned in it's 'info' that they have a tile radius of 5/6 or something.
