[First experience] Going Hybrid!
Yesterday, while looking through the forums, I checked some of PingFao's posts out. He is a big fan of hybrid bases, and has designed quite a few good looking ones.
I, on the other hand, have been having my Town Hall on the outside of my walls since early December.
After looking through the posts I figured what the hell, let's make a hybrid base. I adjusted my previous base a tiny bit so my Town Hall would fit in. I went to bed, hoping to see some nice replays the next morning.
As I woke up, first thing I did was check CoC. I was greeted by this good looking screen:

As a farmer, trophies mean fairly little to me, but come on, who doesn't like the look of that?

I was rather surprised about none of them getting even one storage. My elixir storages were loaded and rater poorly protected (spread out, but it isn't hard to get just one).
Then when looking at the replays their attacks just gotbtotally demolished by my defenses while they were trying to breach into my inner core, where my town hall and half of my gold is. This had resulted in all of them badly losing while using a full-out army.
None of them got even more than 30%, let alone 40, so I didn't have a shield while logging on. This was no biggy though, because I hadn't lost any rescources either.
All in all, a very swell first experience with my first hybrid base!
