The main problem i see in BOTH afronife and your tags is the unneeded adjustment layers like gradient maps. Alot of gradient maps you both put are too strong,unneeded, and they often mess up the lighting and shading.

edit: im gonna expand my tips even further. Some of you might ask,"Well, what gradient maps should i add and not add?"

i recommend starting with nzxt's tutorials, as it is for beginners to intermediate(not saying im a pro, im a complete noob) and he doesnt put many gradient maps in his tutorials(like just 2-4). He also explains why he put it there and what they do.

start there, understand why you put adjustment layers, and your epic :cool:

That epic part doesn't really go with the rest but sure hahaha:p I know I use too many Gradient Maps:rolleyes: I'm trying to drop them, but I still use them too much. I guess I really need to watch some tutorials;):cool:

I've tried and failed. I don't have a tablet so... though I have done lots of fine arts, my hands is lame with a mouse

I highlighted every layer depending on what I did to them. Some times you will see a layer named "note" with text saying what I specifically did.

Green: These are the layers I added.
Red: these are the layers that weren't needed and I hid them instead of deleting them.
Yellow: these are the layers that are already in the PSD, but I edited them
Purple: its a note layer
No color: They were already in the PSD, I did nothing to them because they were fine where they were

hmmm....all it looks like you have done is done a gaussian blur on the background added a tiny render and and put some text in too...

tips:

make render bigger and smudge it a little so it blends more with the background

fix your text!

dont just do 1 big smudge, do individual ones which you can dodge and burn and also sharpen where necessary! Hopefully this helps, btw I don't mean to sound harsh! Just trying to help :)
