Yeah your walls could've been upgraded a long time ago.
just upgrade walls
Walls, as previously said.
You need to get the builders, if your gemming. Builders are so worth it.
Moe, the building Meerkat
It's sad just looking at your base. If I was you I would start a new game and maxing everything at the th level, it's more fun than raiding with a loot penalty now and have too much to upgrade Im afraid.
Yeah I took the approach from the beginning that I'd spend my gold upgrading defenses as opposed to walls, plus I'm only level 55. And after all, the only way to keep an enemy from taking my resources is by killing them and walls don't kill. Therefore, I figure if I have adequate enough walls, I can give my defenses enough time to kill enemies before they take my resources and it's been working pretty well for me. Thanks for the advice!
Most of your defenses are worse than a th7. Ouch. You've got a long road ahead of you.
I have 2 level 6 WTs, and just a few days from having all 3 at level 6. In a couple of weeks I'll have 3 level 7 mortars. My ATs and cannons are a little lower than I'd like but they've done perfectly fine for me and won't take long at all to upgrade. Plus I have 2 x-bows that help against giants as well so I think I'll be fine. Therefore, I'd have to disagree with you about the "long road" part, other than my walls of course. Thanks for the input though.
Between your air defense, cannons, archer towers, Teslas, de storage and collectors, your extremely low lvl army camps, which gives me an idea that your troops are also very low level. You've got months and months of work before your even at a max TH8, let alone maxed TH9. Having a few high level defenses does not make up for your clear disregard for your other defenses. The weakest link breaks the chain. All of this on top of a huge loot penalty is why you have a long road ahead of you.
The loot penalty doesn't affect me too much as long as I stay in a decent trophy range. I usually get at least 100k-150k per raid without looking too long. Sometimes I get lucky and hit a 250k plus city and most of the time get all the resources. The reason I upgraded my TH so fast was to get the max walls and be able to have the most defenses as possible at my disposal. May be a different strategy than most but it's worked pretty well so far...
Level 5 goblins, level 4 wbs, level 4 archers, level 4 barbs, level 3 giants...I mostly use goblins and wbs to farm and they do me just fine, even with only having 145 troop slots. Next upgrade is my giants, obviously.
My cannons, ATs and ADs won't take long to upgrade and I've gotten to the point where I couldn't care less about DE storage. Again, I disagree with your long road assessment, but we can agree to disagree :)
I don't think it's about strategy when you rush your TH. It's a massive mistake compared to how you could be upgrading your Town much easier if your had stayed lower. You say you get 100-150 easily. But being at TH8 I can farm around 600-800k gold an hour with a very cheap and quick to produce layout. Being at TH9 means you can only attack other TH9s without a penalty. -10% loot for attacking TH8 and attack a TH7 is just out of the question. You may think you can get gold easily now but there is no argument that it would have been easier at a lower townhall. Plus now you've got to upgrade those walls with a loot penalty.
This statement is the number one example of being a premature TH9. I had better troops and defenses at TH7. 3 WBers and a few giants to cover your wizard towers and archers and goblins to grab the loot. Could easliy take all the resources. And since I'm TH8 I'd get a +10% bonus against you and I'd take 220k,220k.
By the way what's your current overall level? And DE is an extremely important resource. I've currently got a lvl 7 king all from farming and he's a valuable asset to my army.
Let me add to this that the reason I've spent more time upgrading my WTs and mortars is because the only time anyone has ever gotten a significant amount of resources from me has been when they used a bunch of high level archers, barbs and goblins along with a few giants. If I have high level splash damage defenses, I can quickly kill high numbers of archers/barbs/goblins while giants get torn up by my xbows, cannons and ATs which are in a fairly close proximity. Again, just the strategy I've chosen, so take it for what it's worth.
Many have tried that strategy when I had a slightly worse layout than this one (even using rage spells) and the most they ever got to was one gold storage.
I'm a level 55. And I gave up on DE since it's so hard to raid and so expensive to upgrade the drill without getting much in return.
These are my thoughts
WTH
IS THIS GUY A GEMMER
WHY DID HE GEM HIS TOWNHALL
Don't listen to the guys who are bashing your village. I'm going to try an go over every piece that needs work or is good.
Aspects to Fix:
1. Walls: 1 level 4 wb can break through any wall that you have. Before upgrading the mortars to level 7, make sure you get your walls to at least level 6
2. Finish your last cannon to level 8. If you want, take it to level 9 but you HAVE to get your archer towers to level 8. The upgrades are lengthy but they are necessary.
3. Leave the xbows and teslas alone, for now. Those are powerful defenses where the damage is very nice. Leave those alone.
4. I noticed that you have a level 1 elixir collector in the bottom corner. UPGRADE IT. Get it to a moderate level. LEvel 7 is a one day upgrade so that should be a good point to stop.
Good Aspects:
1. While I don't approve of the premature TH9, you did a good job covering up. With your level 6 mortars and wizard towers, you should repel most attacks. The xbows do a good job of centralizing the defense.
2. The stroages are placed far enough apart that lightning won't affect them. I like this aspect of your layout, other than the fact that your DE storage is easy pickings ;)
3. Traps are well placed in high traffic areas around your map. This is great for repels those heavy ground attackers. Since you have spring traps around your defenses, they should give giants hell.
4. CC in the middle: This is great is your clan donates archers or wizards. They can shoot from the center and repel forces away from the storages.
Overall: This base gets a B-
Walls are a major flaw, but your centralized defense definitely gives attackers a challenge.
(This review took 15 minutes :p. Hope it helped)
I've only bought a fairly low amount of gems, so I wouldn't consider myself a "gemmer." I am, however, a farmer so I'm able to farm for at least the vast majority of my resources.
The reason I upgraded my TH so quickly was to have all the defenses available and the highest number of walls available.
1. Yeah my walls need work. The biggest reason I've held back on that is because, from what I've seen, they cost too much for too little return. Therefore, my strategy has been to get a lot of walls and try to strategically place them around my defenses. It's worked ok so far.
2. All my cannons are level 8, but my ATs do need work!
3. :)
4. Only reason I have that now is for a space filler to spawn defenses further away from my walls, but good advice.
I really appreciate the input! :D
Why do you have 5 million gold space, when you only gave like a hundred or something gold.
I personally would raid your base, I would just use enough troops to raid your dark elixer storage.
That would be fine with me. I'm not that interested in DE at this point. I'm interested mainly in gold, secondly in elixir and there's not a whole lot you could send that would clean out everything I have unless you used a lightning strike + all dragons attack or something.
Dude your broke though
You should really buy those 2 last builders dude, and if you haven't used gems on troop upgrades/camp size, try to get at least 200 camp size with level 5 toops.
That way you can effectively raid most of your gold and recover your base faster.
(This is coming from someone who rushed TH9 as well)
quit and restart over
enjoy leopard crawling through the mud while we run on clean concrete floors. .
if you are enjoying the mud then its ok to continue...lol
If you are going to gem, at least gem the builders.. just upgrade walls for a month or so..
Just hope your trophy count is 1000 or below :P or else
I was gonna reply with a flame but after reading your replies I changed my mind.
Yes, you're a premature th9'er
Yes, your base is no more structurely defensive than my TH7
Yes, I have higher level troops than you
..But you know what, we all play the game our own way and as long as you're enjoying the game then I don't see any reason to bring you down for your strategy.
I'm surprised that you're not getting three starred constantly though.
