I had to decide this also yesterday. Hogs to 2 or king to 6 and then on to 10 lol. I chose king lol. GL with whatever you decide. I would go to 10

Lvl5 BK should be sufficient for now. Lvl4+ hogs can wipe out TH8 and most low-mid TH9 bases (especially non anti-hog bases). Hogs can help you get more DE to help upgrade BK later on.
It depends on your strategy. If you prefer to farm - go with the king. If you want to wage war - upgrade hogs.
Keep upgrading him tip you become TH9
i suggest stop your bk at lvl 5 then max your hogs first to lvl 4. after that, max bk to lvl 10. hogs 4 are great in wiping out th8 and mid th9 bases. but it all depends on your preference. :p
Why dont look up some strategies with which you feel confident and get to dark elixer raiding and just try to do both, I've noticed that my dark elixer builds up while im working on defences and walls so Im trying to do both since I've got plenty of time getting all my walls to 8.
agree with above, BK to 5, hogs to 4, BK to max 10. All before starting TH9 upgrade.
Depends on how easy you can get DE. Getting DE is much easier at TH9 and 10. You get more and higher level drills than at TH8, you get more and better troops which allow you to get more DE.
I personally wouldn't push your BK to lvl 10@TH8 if that's the only thing left to do. If you can upgrade minions or hogs, I'd do that after your BK has reached his Iron Fist. Minions are a great asset when farming and hogs are very useful in clan wars and cupping.

The benefits of having a lvl 10 BK before starting TH9 is that you have a strong BK to depend on during the initial difficulties of a brand new TH9.
That way you fan focus DE on the leveling up the AQ until she matches the BK's lvl. then you can alternate their leveling by multiples of 5, e.g. BK10/AQ10, BK15/AQ10, BK15/AQ15, BK20/AQ15, etc.
BK to 10, I did it early and can focus on just gold farming now. The DE naturally comes for the troop upgrades and I use hogs as I want since I don't need to save all my precious DE like before.
