i agree with this, its funny, you would think with clan wars, it would have made skill something more measurable and less opinionated. but i still read peoples comments thinking certain clans could give itd or ice a challenge, and i wonder, have they been paying attention? if not then just go look at first post, where ksa provides the war log, then think of this, dark sky and old exodias have had similar scores against same opponents, and dark sky has beat farming kings, but both clans fall about 10-15 stars short of itd vs similar clans. as another forumer pointed out, itd has not had it completely easy, every win they have worked for and earned, which in my eyes makes them a 1b and ice a 1a when you rank clans in clan wars, but these other clans people keep mentioning, just because they are popular forum clans, doesnt mean they are as good, members from these clans themselves have even said they would not put up much competition.

i know ice has more maxed bases, but do you think ice bases are stronger, top to bottom, than its'd? i knew of a few ice members with rainbow walls as they called them, (gold,pink,purple,black,etc). itd standard base seems to be legos with max def and lvl 25 heros, if we are saying 3 stars are what win wars, then i wonder who has the most 3 starrable bases, ice or itd, judging from last war i would say its pretty even.

Ok I see now. The average base of Ice compared to the average base in ITD is similar because ITD has rigid standards, while ice has strong variation. Are these members with rainbow walls in the main ice clan because of their attacking skill then? Also, in this case, would a war between ITD and Ice be decided by mainly luck and AI failures?

The guys with rainbow walls in IIB are there because we're all friends. We dont care what your base stats are. As long as you can 1) hold your own on your attacks, 2) not be lame in game chat (cool people need only apply, any sign of dorkism and we'll kindly ask you to go to mega) 3) donate only maxed troops. Cups dont matter to us much, as long as we know u have the skills to push high if ever needed than its all good in the hood. I love my boys with rainbow walls and would never trade them for a maxed base guy thats a lamer.

and no both wars between ice and itd were not decided by luck or ai failures, its decided by how u scout and choose your bases and how you perform, which i and the rest of IIB can attest that ITD is one of the best in the game at just that...well 2nd best so far :)

Quick overview of the current members in both clans.

*and 1 rainbow wall member

So to answer your first question, no not really.
It's perfectly natural to think that we had tougher bases to beat (and maxed bases with maxed walls do make a difference when it comes down to no star 47%-49% failed raids), but that will never be an excuse as Kings Rock or Mega had similar number of members as IIB with max bases+heroes and we were still able to beat them.

I'm sure there are people hopping in and out occasionally but that's how the "strengths" are lined up at the moment. After all the biggest difference is IIB are great trophy hunters while we are great farmers, and since CW was introduced, we've both transformed ourselves to great (if not the best) warring clans.

And to answer your last question, I won't say absolutely no luck was involved, but I personally believe it's all about preparation, scouting, organizing for pre-war and timing (this is like 90%), attacking direction, and troop combination during the actualy battle - maybe luck plays less than a percent or two.

I don't want to play the "what if" game. It's hard to imagine a bunch of ITD members all of a sudden gemming maxed heroes and bases to match up with IIB strength-wise. But purely in the sense of attacking and getting 3-stars on maxed bases, I believe we are pretty much up there toe to toe, as Speedro put it, 1a and 1b.

ice ice baby has some phenomenal raiders. maxed base or not they are extremely crafty at ninja proofing their bases which also makes them that much more of a tough opponent. we've learned the most from the losses to them in my opinion. one of these days well come out on top though :) well be sure to not have multiple people with the same layouts and well have better designed bases than our last meeting. all learned from the wars with them.
