Lol, it won't work. If you are able to destroy gem boxes then you could be able to destroy trees which contain gems. If you can get gems from raids, then supercell will lose out, because you won't buy gems. If you can raid 50 gems from an inactive base, then you will have tonnes! I would like it, but supercell just lose out in the end

The only reason a gem box sits is because your builders are all busy and cant harvest it. *except that first one. I let my first one sit for 3 days because it was pretty.*

I agree. I would support the idea. It would encourage more active participation. Would allow more ways to gain gems than spending money. It by no means would replace options for buying gems at only a few per Gem box, and so few Gem boxes are ever seen available in ones base. I just don't think it would compare.
And before you all ask about my own? ... If I leave it laying around and don't prioritize my Gem box over the other options to build, than it must not be important enough, and I won't lose out on its loss... or I deserve to lose it! simple! Which is why it would encourage more active daily participation, not just for other's Gem boxes... but saving your own, if its that important to you. You would make sure you grab it next possible opportunity of a builder available. Or don't complain you lost it.
Plus... like O.P. stated... you probably could get more from looting other's than working your own.
If option is made possible though, make it where the gem box is no longer available once a builder is working it. That would really suck, if your builder is in the middle of working Gem box, and your raided and its looted. That should be a No!!
AS long as the Gem Box is not being worked on, than The Gem box should be available for looting!!

oh and there is also the concern about exploiting it... Gem boxes seem to spawn on Fridays' (in America anyway) So someone sees a gem box on their map friday morning, and starts hitting next over and over to get any base with gem boxes.
Plus, well, gem boxes are harvested via a builder. What troop would we use for gem box stealing?
