Though I love these ideas, I don't think Supercell is going this direction. Look at the Dismiss War troops. That's the direction Supercell is going.

I am afraid you are correct and i really hate that approach.. its more maintenance on the requester when it just seems logical to only accept what you want in the first place.. but it is what it is.. 15 years of Software development and UX design makes it difficult to just deal with other peoples designs..
The idea of donating troops should remain altruistic. Every clan is run differently, and I am sure many clans allow you to request specific troops at specific levels. The clans that don't tolerate the demand (like mine) don't feel its right to exclude clan members from donating - especially when donating is required to remain in the clan. As one of our clan co-leaders eloquently put it to an offended, entitled newbie, "it's not a supermarket".
I am curious to know where the "entitled" attitude comes from
never planned to win everyone over.. But can you tell me how it would hurt your clan to request what they need to win a battle and if its some newb that believes he is entitled to something it just doesn't get filled?
Also i have no issue with this being an option and if you want to use the old style you could just sect lvl 1 everything...
It hurts the lower level guys we've let into our clan. If they are required to donate, but no one is willing to take their troops - how can we justify kicking them out for not donating.
Here's and extreme scenario of what we try to avoid:
If I'm the only one in the clan with lvl 4 dragons - and you demand one ( it stops being a request at that point, don't you think?) - up to 48 other clan mates are excluded from the donation. You aren't likely to get what you want, I'm p.o.ed that you put me on the spot and can't reciprocate, and everyone else in the clan thinks you're a ♥♥♥♥♥ for being elitist.
New guys come to our clan and demand something they can't even make themselves. It's off putting
Ok but where do we find common ground for this.. You want to change nothing because you are concerned about the lower lever people in your clan.. I am the lowest level member in my clan.. everyone else is 90+ up to 131 or so something and I am the one asking for this change.. it makes it easy for me to know when i can donate my lvl 5 wiz instead of the lvl 6 that everyone else is giving without having to ask every time because im not sure if they are requesting this for Clan War or if they are just going to raid some random person.. It does not seem right for me to ask them to change there message 10 times a day just for me and they prob get tired of me asking.. not to mention they might not want lvl 5's but feel obligated to take them.. if they all req lvl 6 and i cant deliver then i should look for a clan that i can contribute to unless they are fine with me never donating..
Excellent idea! Let's hope they can implement this soon!
That is kind of my point. There are soooo many clans out there, finding the right one for you and your personality, as well as your gameplay is the key to this particular game's longevity. I think if your clan was tired of you though, they'd let you know or kick you out. If your clan has set up donation policies, then the need for a reject button shouldn't be necessary anyway. Repeat offenders probably don't last long. If your clan is cool with specific requests, but doesn't honor them or hold people accountable, find one that does if you want to be able to request that way
We request specific troops during clan wars, of course, for the greater good. In between, we've asked members not to donate certain troops, and individuals do as well. "Please, no giants" is a very common request. We suggest people make reasonable requests that can include more member participation. The leader and co-leaders monitor and make sure everyone gets along. A reject troop button would cause arguments and discord, I'm my opinion. To each his own.
