Every once in a while the goblins from the campaign should attack your base. This is a simple but good way to be able to see how well each of your defenses work. The difficulty of their attack should be decided on how many star you have in the campaign. If they get a successful raid then you obviously shouldn't lose too much resources as you don't get much from the campaign either.
