[Guide] Grinding through Town Hall 8

Great guide. Addresses a lot of the issues I've had with others (like leave your Teslas until late because they take a long time to upgrade -?!?Seriously?!?). This just fits with all the best logic that I've come up with for this.

Many thanks for posting such a concise guide to TH8 Arasarn. I'll be on my way to TH8 soon, this will be invaluable.

There are so many people willing to help on these forums. It's a great community to be part of!

This guide is awesome! It really helped me map out my progress through TH8, with 70 walls and some collectors left i started TH9 today! Thank you so much for your help through TH8, is there one for TH9?

You put a lot of good thought and work into the guide, and it shows.

Totally agree on the Clan Castle, troop upgrades, and Barbarian King - they help every time you use them.

Not a day goes by on this forum where someone doesn't ask that question. There are a few schools of thought;

• Max buildings from builders.
• Max Walls
• Max Your Lab

In the end I chose the one that happened first. I didn't want to have any idle production capacity and was happy enough with the amount of skull walls I had.

I wanted to get lvl 6 troops, a bigger army composition through camp upgrades, a larger clan castle for troops and increased war loot capacity more than I felt the need to grind out another 45 million gold in wall upgrades or to do all the lab upgrades.

well no:2 does not work for me. :). i max my skull walls and still upgraded the best defense 20 days (computed after my townhall upgraded to th8.
I will just give advice on those who are rushers like me (those who average 8 million gold and 5 million elix per day.)
I semi-rush my th1-7 too.

well i suggest spend at least 50 days on th8 before upgrading to th9 if you have 5 builders. btw "i bought my fifth builder $9.99 after i got 800 gems". it would give you time to max most of the important things in the lab. (4 days lab + 5 days archer + 10 days dragon + 5 days barb/giants + 16 days spells + 5 days wiz + 5 days wb + 10 days (any)

that would give you 60 days on th8. which is the suggest fastest time to up the th.
it wont give you max defense but if you upgraded well enough will still give you max tesla, wiz, mortar.

Wow. You are farming a lot. I just couldn't commit that many hours a day to the game. Good on you for getting walls done before everything else. If I could have spent elixer on walls back then I would almost certainly have maxed them out before upgrading as well.

Yes farming from dusk to dawn.
well loot is much lower now but still get to the 6mgold/4m elix average per day.
walls is now faster with elix. but i get a problem with no builders (2-3 days).
most of the important upgrades last 6-8 days and longer. if build most of them with your builders you might end up with no builder for 3 days. which is really frustrating for some.

did you experience this problem too?

I upgraded to Townhall 8 two weeks ago, and I'm doing almost the same steps to upgrade my village except, after upgrading my mortars to level 6, I'm upgrading my cannon to level 9 before moving onto Wizards Tower. The reason being, level 9 cannons can ONE shot level 6 archers, which gives you huge advantage when comes to defending your village from BARCH attacks. Aside from this, i'm pretty much doing the same upgrading process and routine. I'm not sure if i will be able to max out my walls, perhaps 50 walls at best before TH9.

PS: I have 4 builders at the moment, i might be able to get the 5th halfway through TH8 by reaching Master League for that 1000 gems, and other achievements along the way.

Looks like i have a long journey ahead...
