Too much elixir (Town hall 7 and up)

Problem

Im lvl 104 and played this game for 1 year and a half. During that time, I have noticed how full your elixir get because there aren't very many ways you can spend elixir. It happened to be starting from town hall lvl 7 and still continues all the way to town hall 10 so I think it is mainly because of walls. This happens everytime you are halfway finished with your town hall. You spend a ton of gold to upgrade your walls (500k and 1mill per wall for me) so while you use all that gold and need more gold for defense, the elixir has nothing big after you upgrade stuff because there are less things you can spend the elixir on except for the fact that it can be for troops. There are far less things you can do with elixir. You can say, free elixir right? Whats the problem with a surplus? The problem is if you have too much loot, people tend to raid you very often. I have had times when i lost millions of loot and tons of trophies in 1 day because of this.

Suggestions

It is suggest you guys should think of something useful to throw away all your extra elixir in starting from town hall 7 or 8. A good way to use your gold are walls but for elixir, it just stays in my storages doing nothing except attracting other players. Maybe we can have a Dark elixir converter where 1mill elixir is converted into 10000 dark elixir or more so every day. We probably have to load the converter up with elixir every day though. We need a dark elixir converter because dark elixir is hard to get and elixir is much easier with the addition of dark elixir troops and inferno towers, it is even slower. Dark elixir converters would be very useful
It is also suggest that you guys should make other things cost elixir like what you did to the spells a while back. You guys can also make finding for people cheaper so we spend less gold when raiding. There are probably tons more ideas to combat this problems.(Post them below)

Conclusion

We can all see how this elixir surplus can be bad because of how people raid you a lot if you have lots of loot. Everyone can see how a few balance tweaks were to be made would be great. Making Dark elixir converters or another idea that would help keep things balanced, and it would keep the players happy.

Anyways, cool idea. Maybe have some sort of upgradable monument that takes an exorbitant amount of elixir to fully upgrade (but each piece is only 100-500k elixir)?

There's no problem with the balancing of the game. Research troop upgrades, train costly troops and donate, resource upgrades, etc..

If you have so much elixir, use it to get your donations up and train a bunch of crazy expensive armies :)

I actually donated a decent amount of troops in clan wars. The problem with my clan is that it isnt very active so you cant donate a lot.

I do not have anything to upgrade with elixir and that is the problem I do not want to upgrade my town hall to level ten because of the loot penalty up there. While you have too much elixir, you still have half of your defenses to upgrade with gold. You probably don't know this problem because:

1. You only played for a few months
2. You don't like to upgrade your walls
3. You rushed your townhall even though you think you didn't

I do not agree to what you said about the elixir not being balanced because I have had this happen to me 3 times and my friends have also had this problem with the elixir. If you look at my profile I looted far less elixir from people than what happened to me with gold and I somehow still have this problem. I don't want Supercell to reduce the elixir pumps or anything. I wish that supercell should make something useful like Dark elixir converters to even the elixir out like what gold does to walls. Thank you for responding to my thread NeuralFusion :D
