Any advice?

I've been the leader of a pretty good clan for the last year or so. Since the introduction of clan wars, a large of the faction of the clan have been upset over losing and all left yesterday. My clan is decimated. Has anyone else ever experienced a mass departure? If so, how did you rebuild and move on? I've looked at recruiting on global and it's akin to picking out of a dumpster fire and the clan section on the forum looks like the only thing going on are tumbleweeds blowing by. Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated.

Don't start a war (until ready)
Kick out inactives
Try to teach them how to raid
Keep the chat active
Get powah!

We did fine with all those. I think the main problem with the losses in wars was due to many of them being rushed. We were a farming clan before and rushing your th doesn't wreck you when farming but really hurts in wars. Clan chat was typically talkative. Frustration set in and half the clan bolted. They raided fine but the competition is pretty steep in wars. I was more asking about how to recover when half your clan bails

Th makes little to none different in matchmaking according to the FAQ
But the troops lvl will if you rushed without upgrading

When a lot of people go, you look for more people, looking for an allience also helps
There isn't much to do, but to persevere

Really? I thought the TH made one of the biggest differences...

To the OP: There was a guy in my clan that called all of us ♥♥♥♥♥♥s, and that he never wanted to see us again. At that point, he was a very high elder, probably next in line for co leader if any of our other 2 co's left. At that point, I was surprised how much hate I got for kicking him. I mean he called us ♥♥♥♥♥♥s! So half the clan left. Another 1/8 of the members were inactives, we had to kick them. So we were left with only 10 or so members after being a 50 member clan for so long... set your clan to "anyone can join" it helps. Also go to the madhouse known as global if you want to do some extra recruiting.

How is strength calculated in clan wars?
Strength is based on each member’s attacking power (troops, army camp capacity, spells and heroes) and defensive strength (defense buildings, walls, traps and heroes). Different layouts and base designs do not affect strength. The only way a member’s strength can be changed is if they upgrade their troops, defenses, spells, etc.

No TH, but there was someone with a calculations of each building I think, I would find it but I am lazy

In my experience with wars, it seems to be pretty fair match ups. I've had easy and tough wars but that's another subject. I've set the clan to 0 trophies/ anyone can join but I'm wondering if that's the best way to go about things. If I get a bunch of really low level people, it would fill it up but I'd like to get at least a mid tier group of clashers

It will help you with strategy. Clans can only be built with hard work and donations. Boot people who don't donate and don't throw elder at everyone. Make people work for it by donating 400 or so a week. I started a clan in Jan. and have it maxed to 50 members. We are ranked right at 10k global. It was built on donations. Loot Nation!

I looked at the video youtube and it was informative. I'm not really asking about clan war strategy though. Our clan was pretty solid. We have reasonably strict rules about elders so its not like a bunch of green members hijacked the clan. I even had two coleaders jump ship. I guess I'm asking about how to do some decent recruiting/ how to deal with the emotional turmoil of having a bunch of year plus members leave. Sorry if I'm not being clear on the question, I'm trying to wrap my head around this and adding more information as the discussion goes along

Recruit from forums or go thru globals n recruit people who are active farmers ( look at gold grab..friend in need..etc)
When you have got say..20+ members..do a push..to crystal -gold.create a good clan banner explaining requirements n keep posting in different globals..being in crystal will get you lot of clanmates..
Btw keep the clan status to invite only..check player stats n base before accepting..as soon as clan gets better..start war..try taking all members to social sites such as glassboard to discuss strategy ..how to raid..whom to raid..etc

It did happen to a clan I was in. The members left and made their own clan leaving only me, the leader and a couple of member behind. After that the clan just collapsed and disappeared by itself. Very strange how a healthy clan can just cease to exist...:confused:

Bring in some low level TH and some higher level mix to get better matchups but make sure a few of your higher and lower levels know how to attack well to cover for those that don't. Then let the good raiders help out the less experienced raiders and try to keep it fun even when losing. Second accounts of a higher level person that knows how to attack can really help out at TH 7 and 8 for easy stars IMO. Then the TH 9 or 10 main can go hogging on other TH 9s or whatever. Let a few of your TH 7 people learn the way of the dragon and lightning to beat on other TH 7s. Easiest 3 star in the game (TH 7 mass drags/triple lightning against other TH 7) but need that elixir so look at their gold grab, league, and EE to get some idea if they can hold up with the needs of expensive troops.

Of course checking CW stars, how many multiplayer victories they have, etc... helps.

We lost our first clan war, and we had been 12-0 until then. Our leader RAGED so hard, and we were tired of his ♥♥♥♥ and left.

omg same thing happened, we had a kick before a war, we went down to 43, and then we lost a war, and soooo many people ditched, people who have been at the place for more than a month, one was even a veteran ROCK player. We are now wavering on the brink of 31 to 32, frantically trying to rebuild:(

Good Ideas. I find that there will be around two frustrated persons after each war that will leave lol. We arent high lvl players (78 highest) but we do have a few bronzes to keep us balanced. Sorry to hear about your clan, bootylicious, and hope it starts growing again.
