Do mortars ever become meaningless? I know that in champ league they are mostly unprotected and not worth much but I'm mid-late TH 9 and they are still one of my most important defenses, when they are centralized everyone just snipes my town hall, when I prioritize Air defense in the middle I can still get wrecked by BAGG. Granted this is at crystal 3, not master and up.

Mortars aren't meaningless, but they go from one of your most important defenses to an afterthought. Obviously they are always useful against farming tier 1 troops, but later in the game and at higher trophies they don't play a huge role anymore.
