I am a firm believer that the healer and giant combo is one of the best strategies out there for Townhall 7-8. I'm doing wonderful and I have just maxed out all of my walls and all of my defenses. I'm now waiting for my construction for Townhall 8 to complete.
Does anyone have any other strategies that you really like?
I haven't tried the healer-giant combo yet primarily since healers are a bit expensive and take up a lot of space. I prefer to use giants and a rage spell along with archers for flanking. Once air defenses are down I bring in the balloons which are devastating with rage
I was wondering if I'd come across anyone who uses balloons. I've upgraded them, but never used them.

Attack TH 6 or 7 with Giant + Healer + Balloon. Can get you sometimes like 200k and you will win most of the times.
It's very important though that you have distractions from giants before sending in balloons. Their slow speed will be their downfall if targeted by archer or wizard towers. Also only use rage if someone has a bunch of defenses clustered together since the radius of rage is rather small and after about two seconds of leaving its radius the effect wears offQuote:

i like it because it is fairly flexible and reasonably fast to train. i find that there are few bases that can't be attacked by this kind of formation (well developed th 9's are a good exception).
the healer combo is fun but i find it requires a very particular base to attack: one that has poorly placed air defenses that can be taken out easily, so i always ended up looking for that one base that has good resources AND a good fit for the strategy. i try to keep the number of variables in the decision to raid as low as possible.

I'm thinking about using it, and have used it before and loved it, and I have 700k Elixir. Once I get 750k should I upgrade for lv 4 Giants or lv 2 Healers? I have all other farming troops at lv 3, here's my army (sorry enter doesn't work on this computer) 12 giants 1 healer 20 goblins 35 barbs 35 archers 10 wall breakers, also hows the army?
what i hate about the giant healer combo is
- say u queue up your giants and healer. what if you see a base that is for lazy farming ? You deploy your gob/archer, then next raid no gob/arch and too much giant/healer .. ?
- well protected air def = gg
- lots of segmentation with purple walls = gg also
- simple base still requires you to use ALL of your army, which is stupid.
- giants split up ? good luck.
I use them alot in th6/7 and found them to be good at low level, but th8 ? Nah, its inefficient and slow.
2 raids per hour.. definitely need more time and effort than mine
36/60/40/8/12 combo in getting 6mil gold per day.
