Didn't have that in Starcraft I. Never played Starcraft II. Just googled it and I agree with you. Aside from the trophy range vs gaussian distribution scheme, it's basically a rip off (even the tier names are almost identical).

Question to all the tech-savvy crowd who seem to analyze these data files often... have any of you ever seen an expected development in the code, before it was released in the past?
So, did you all see the Heroes coded before it was released? Or, the valks before they were released? How typical (or atypical) is it to see a potential future development or tweak in the code like this?

Just realized the "Unranked" tier lists 0, 0, 0. As do figures for DE. So the "trophy penalty multiplier" theory seems off. My bad.
If figures are bonus rates then they could be related to collector/mine output or loot, as mentioned.
By being able to establish different trophy-based percentages for each currency on top of the TH loot penalty, SC is quickly becoming the ECB or Federal Reserve.
Look at the Promote and Demote ranges. They overlap. Thats pretty interesting IMO.
