Is offence more powerful than defence?

Hey guys,
Ive been thinking about all these 'im getting wrecked! Please help me' threads and how almost all are about how TH8s are losing so much loot to TH9s and 10s with any base design. Sure, all bases have a weak point and you cant have an indestructible base because that isnt fair. But is offence too powerful? Maxxed out defences in champions league are getting 100%ed... I have also noticed that in champions league the only armys they use are powerful troops that take up more than 5 housing space and so the only defences properly protected are xbows, infernos, ADs, and teslas. People neglect their ATs and Cannons even though they could be pretty handy in Champion. Chief Pats defenceless champion series shows you dont need a defence at all and that with a maxxed offence you can do anything. So is offence too powerful? Do we need to do anything about it i.e. Give certain defences more dps in the next update?

Is fine the way it is in my opinion, it is hard to get a 100% but not impossible, I think that is what they want

In normal gameplay raiders gets to choose his/her target so he/she can choose a base that gives the best odds for either loot and/or trophies. Also many defenders have defense upgrading, traps unset, heroes sleeping or cc empty. In clan wars the situation changes dramatically and think our clan record is eight defensive wins in a row for a base in one war.

Overall a human raiders does have better chance of winning then the computer led defense.

Easiest solution would be the lift the bar for a win from th or 50% to 75%. Th would give second star and full annihilation three stars as today.

Chief Pat is only that high in trophies because he gems....anyone can get to Champions if they have gems.

You dont progress much if you only rely on defense.

Surest way to kill the game would be to make defense stronger.

You'd be surprised how far you can get off purely defence at th10, don't have to be maxed... for example, Dr Defensive on yt (Genbo from Scaliwags) made Champ+ with purely defence and many others have done previously

You have to focus on balance. At some points it's more about your defense and others the offense. You have to do everything. Gems make everything instant. Don't be fooled by what some of the youtubers can accomplish in a fraction of the time.

The thing is...this game has a major design flaw that people like to call "core mechanic". Offense is (partially) prone to human error, while defense isn't. CoC isn't a multiplayer game, but a player-made single. The most cynical of us can say we are saving Supercell the trouble of designing tens of hundreds of different layouts.

Clearing up: I like the game the way it is. I. Don't think we should affect defense, but that means both of them can never be balanced. If that was the case, every noob you stumble upon on global would be on masters because he had his mother's credit card in hand and copied an optimal layout from somewhere, even though he uses hogs with jump spell.

Gems dont make u champion mate , skill does.

ofcourse the gems help , but with gems only u cant get far..
I see people with maxed th10 bases and i mean maxed , those blue walls yes.
and cant even get to 3400 with it..

so yeah gems do help , but it doesnt make u champ.
