I'm currently level 12 in the town and the number of materials needed to expand keeps growing. My barn is overloaded and as a result i upgrade everything in town as soon as poosible just so i can breathe a minute. The further result is that i haven't got enough materials to upgrade my barn. The never ending story. Making me tired and the game is not as enjoyable as before. The new materials and the demands has made the game unbalanced.


I like the game to be a challenge but this is too much. And i do agree that we do not need any new or old materials to upgrade a tool shed. There must be another way. The idea about upgrading with current level is a possibility but i can't identify the bigger consequences of the game concept and balance if this where effectuated :-)

I noticed early on in the game that there is something coded in to prevent 'hoarding' of rare items. This means that when your barn is crowded, you sell excess expansions and others can buy them. With the proper balance of expansion items, and selling off extras you can easily maintain and expand your barn and silo space throughout the game and help other players with nice items along the way.

Hoarding all your premium and rare items for yourself and your neighbors would ruin part of the fun of the game. Yes, I know some people already do this, but adding a tool shed would only increase it ten fold.

With proper management of my resources I've almost always had enough barn and silo space. Nowadays I actually have far more than I need, but I keep expanding to increase my profits and game potential. Not only that, but I get to sell off extra rare items to neighbors and random strangers alike which I'm sure improves the fun of the game for all. If I had a tool shed I would feel little inclination to give my rare items to strangers at any price.

I don't understand how a barn for tools/building materials would encourage hoarding and no matter how good you are at managing resources, if you can't find the needed materials to expand then that presents a storage problem. If someone has resources to hoard they will have the resources to just keep expanding their barns to hold more. If anything encourages hoarding it is the economy of Hay Day itself as the supply of resources is abundant or scarce at their discretion.
