Count me in!
I'm in! Sounds like a good idea.
Came in here to make the same request...my production needs to keep up with the boats, the town, the visitors, and the truck orders can't keep up because of all of the tools in my barn...LOVE the idea that storage increases with level!!!
If a player has trouble expanding the barn, then won't they also have trouble expanding their tool shed? I don't really feel this will solve the problem all that well.
I came in the forums to put in a request for a tool shed and I was so happy to see that someone has already started that. It has become very difficult to function and run the farm because the of all the new necessary tools that came with the expansion. Don' t take me wrong, I love the update and the train expansion but it is necessary to have a tool shed to separate all the tools from all the goods that we need to keep to load ships and supply for visitors.
please please take this suggestion very seriously because it is extremely hard to run the farm now with the lack of storage.
Thank you
Add me to please, I think this is a great idea!

I fully support the idea of a tool shed for all expansion materials!
Not necessarily. You get to a point of diminishing returns where the amount of mats far exceeds the space they give you. I am getting close to needing 90 mats to expand my barn (30 of each) and as it is only giving me 25 slots it is just not worth it anymore. Then we add the mats that don't expand the barn and silo at all, L/TEMs, saws, axes, dynamite, TNT and shovels.
A way to make them go for it could be to appeal to their profits. It has to be worth it to them as well. To do this I would make the tool shed work along the same lines as the RSS for storage. You start with 6 bins that can hold 10 items, and thing put here will not be able to be sold. to expand the bins make them cost diamonds at the same rate that the farm production buildings.
They have to make the money so that we can continue to play the game and to add updates and so on. This means the idea of it making them some profit is not at all distasteful to me.
All in all I support the idea of a tool shed.
Point is, once you use the BEMs to expand, you regain that space. So you are not correct that you don't benefit from expanding. For instance, let's say your barn space is 500, and you need 90 items to expand. Yes, then in short term, you'll use up 90 space but only get 25 back. Bad investment? Well, after 4 upgrades, you'll have used 90 space (disregarding the slight increase each time you upgrade) but will have gained 100 space. So basically, you invested those 90 space, but after that point, every time you upgrade comes free (almost, because amount increases by 3 each time, which will be your continued payment, so to speak).
As others have said, adding a tool shed will not really solve the problem. This is because:
- Tool shed will itself use materials to upgrade, thus making it redundant (now you pay to upgrade toolshed instead of upgrading barn)
- Tool shed will be less flexible, because you won't have the option to put something else in it in the times where you don't have tools (for instance, right after you upgrade barn, you can stockpile other things, and then gradually substitute them with tools as you get closer to next upgrade)
- Tool shed will most likely reduce the number of expansion materials listed in daily deal dramatically, which will make it harder for you to find materials to upgrade
- Removing challenges from games don't make them more fun, quite on the contrary, once all challenges are left from game, you're likely to lose interest in them and move on to new games. Easy isn't always fun.
For that reason, I'm against the idea of a tool shed.
