Having trouble- losing too much loot to too many "Failing" attacks

Hello, as of recently it seems i'm being attacked 20+ times a day, and everyone loses to me, but manages to loot a ton of my gold/elixer/dark elixer. My defenses aren't terrible, and I've tried dropping my trophies multiple times, and literally in one day i've went from 600-980 from people losing attacks. It's pretty aggravating because i'm actually losing loot faster than i'm gaining it, so i'm making 0 progress in this game at the moment.
Is there any suggestions for this? I'm not interested in continually spending money on gems if I just lose the gold/elixer i've saved up to upgrade buildings.

Having your TH outside your base would help a lot.

By the sounds of it, you haven't heard of a common theme among people looking to make and save their resources, that is putting your town hall outside, where anyone can take it... This trick (while commonly used among the vast majority of players) is used so players take your town hall and leave, in doing so, they give you a free 12 hour shield, while they take anywhere from 6-12 trophies as long as it's not revenge, in this process, they take a mere 1,000 gold and elixir. This free shield is great for when you are going off for any period of time, as you know you will not be losing any resources. For an effective farming base design, just ask on the forums if anyone would be kind enough to post one, or try your hand at making one yourself! ;)

Toooot toooot. Thanks guys. I used to leave my townhall outside, completely forgot about that strategy.. FML.

Bad luck maybe. it happened to me the day before yesterday.
I'm TH10 since sunday, with 100% maxed TH9 defenses.
I logged out at 2100 trophies with my TH outside and ~5M gold in storages.

I got 4 successive attacks which all got 2 storages from me, and no shield given (34%, 39%, 38% and the last one 44% with TH killed). Boom, that was 4 x 200k loot gone in ~45 minutes, way more than I manage to get in a hour as a recent TH10 still struggling to get a farming range.

And luckily I was still awake so I managed to refill my clan castle between the attacks otherwise it would have been worse.
I feel extremely weak as a starting TH10, even though my TH9 defenses were maxed.


But I guess it was all just bad luck: 1 hog attack with lvl 40 heroes, one mass lvl 4 dragons with 5 spells, one giant healer + lvl 30 archer queen and 20 lvl 6 wizzards and another giant/hogs/archer attack that got me the shield. it was quite rare for me to lose 2 storages as a TH9 and in one evening I managed to get 4 of these defenses in a row ...

Anyway I feel you bro, hope it was just bad luck as it was for me x)
