What is the BEST Clan Castle Defensive Troop(s) for TH6 and lower?

Hi all,

I am the leader of a clan of mostly TH6 and lower. For Clan Wars, what Troop(s) are the best for Clan Castles defense?

1) Healers? I like them since they can heal building but sometimes they get hung up on one building while the rest gets destroyed.

2) Balloon (Level 3)? They can pack a big punch against enemy Giants that are pounding on our weapons. Plus I think defensive Balloons can only be killed by a Lightning Spell.

3) Do you have a better idea that you have seen works well?

Healers and ballons can be also killed. In fact, good players will draw them out and, depending on the units, will use different means to kill them. +1 to wizards

Wizards and the rest archers

When most of them are TH6 or below (I believe TH6 s have a level three CC?), then give them the following.

10 spaces -> two wizards and two archers
15 spaces -> three wizards and three archers
20 spaces -> four wizards and four archers

That's what I would do in that situation :o

Actually, I have not yet seen a defensive Healer or Balloon be killed during the attack.

I had 3 Balloons (level 3) come out of my Clan Castle during an attack. The attacker tried to kill the Balloons with a Lightning Spell and the Balloons did not die. They survived.

Also, ground units are attacking the base, not the defensive Clan Castle air units. So my Balloons were nearly invincible from the ground units that were attacking my base. Archers and Wizards were on the ground attacking me too!

Have any of you all actually tried this?

IMHO, I don't think it matters --- if one is using their CC in attacks then, obviously, it's best to compliment an attack strategy. Any experienced player is going to neutralize the CC early on no matter what's in there.

Yes, we have. You are dealing with extremely inexperienced attackers. A good attacker will lure the balloons to the edge of the base before deploying other troops. Then, surround the balloons with archers, easily killing them. Bad attackers do none of this, and thus lose.

Anyway, I agree that wizards are often the best choice.
