Is farming an exploit?

I agree with this also. They did indeed patch the game to make farming harder. There never used to be any loot penalties and a guy by the name of PedroLee made farming famous on the forum and soon after caused it to be nerfed. The way farming is now though is just another way to play the game...

You could just as well call trophy pushing an exploit because at the high levels you are basically using real life money to be good in a video game.

I think SuperCell WANT people to farm using the current methods

If there was more loot in higher leagues, I would be farming up there instead. While I can make more gold/elixir in gold I and crystal III than in masters I would be dumb not to stay where I am.

If league bonuses and clan war bonuses weren't so embarrassingly small, you might see more farmers fighting for them.

I think when SC made the game they never anticipated that people would farm. I think they figured people would try to gain trophies, not intentionally lose them.

I agree (seems so obvious but yeah). And now attitudes and behaviors are so entrenched that changing it is almost impossible. They could make league bonuses more relevant. They could also increase collectors/mine/drill output as you go higher in trophies....

Exposed TH is not an exploit, it is just lousy base design.

You can't say that a player is exploiting just because his base design skills are terrible.

Also, exposed TH doesn't magically give you a shield. The action of sniping TH does. So strictly speaking, if there is an exploit, the players exploiting it would be TH snipers, because their action is the one that gives a shield.

The rest of my base design does just fine thanks very much... it protects my loot very well.

Well the game wasn't meant to be played like this originally
and now it's part of the game
