Ok so we all know the base of this game protect your town hall, upgrade things, yada yada yada. But way back when people started farming it was technically an exploit wasn't it? I mean this was a ♥♥♥♥♥ to protect storages right? So what do you think? I mean it's not a bad ♥♥♥♥♥, but is it still a ♥♥♥♥♥? Comment your opinion!
I think of it as an exchange of services.
I give you my cups for free, you give me a shield to protect my loot.
Besides, most farmers raid inactive bases or underdeveloped based, not other farmers.

I would say farming is a abuse of the system, nothing more
An exploit most of the time includes a bug/glitch, bypass or such
Well, it did cause SC to introduce a loot penalty (wasn't there originally), so I guess it might have been an "exploit", or abuse, that needed some correction. Today, it feels pretty much like a part of the game.
Just my opinion.
Its not an exploit, but SC do hate farmers...

"Farming" simply means focusing on resources to improve your base, usually by taking repetitive actions. It is similar to a team being in rebuilding mode rather than push for a title with crappy players.
I don't think so personally. It's just a different way to play the game. When you refer to something as an exploit it's usually something like a bug in the game that can be used for advantage like Ghosting and the old Cheap Shield revenge system which effectively prevented players bases from ever entering matchmaking using a delay in the revenge system. There's been heaps of little things like that over the span of CoC's life. When the game was released there was an elixir exploit. If you loaded a barracks full with troops then cancelled all the troops it would actually give you more elixir than you started with. You could start with low troops then work up to Pekka's until you maxed your storage that way. We used to hide all our gold in an upgrade, then once we were shielded we would cancel the upgrade for all the gold back. They later added a feature where you only got half the amount back from upgrading something to stop that. Players always find new ways to test the system but thankfully SC patch most things up fairly quickly.
