’best base’ the new worst base?

Hi, Im firestar and recently I started farming in clash of clans. I'm not good at building good bases so I searched some up. I have tried around 20 bases That Are apparently 'The Best' 10 mins later I get raided 77-98%. So As usual Im going for a better base this time but I want to use a reliable one. Has anyone found a good & reliable Th8 farming base where you don't lose 200k per raid? If so reply or PM me. Thank you for your help!

Don't use bases that everyone else uses. Everyone knows how to defeat those.

Sometimes it's not all about your base design but walls, CC troops and defences you have. Also, the league you're in. It may be too high!

Wow u have had th8 way to long .. My defences are not as good as yours and ive had lvl 9 for a while now

You are a rushed TH9. He hasn't even gotten close to maxing TH8 so you must be an ultra-premmie TH9. You must not upgrade to TH10 as the loot penalty will be severe. The most important building isn't the Town Hall (to most peoples' surprise). It is a good strategy to upgrade all of your defenses to the maximum level before upgrading the Town Hall.

Everyone nowadays goes around marketing their bases saying that it is "The Best". Never believe any of them and recommended, use only bases on the Forums that have numerous amounts of views on it (i.e Ringus, Pingfao's TTP, Juliang's Pokeball, etc).

This especially relates to people on YouTube who create bases after 5 minutes and then post it titling it "The BEST TH_ Base Ever" without even testing it in game for more than one attack or just get TH picks all the time.

Find bases that offer extensive replays to show its success rate and also take into account the techniques of base building when looking for your own base to use.

Agreed. Making your own original design is much better because if you successfully make a good base, since it is unknown how to attack it, people who do attack it will struggle unlike if they were attacking a mainstream base

The TTP is a great example. When it was "released", it was one of the best TH8 layouts in the game, if not the best. But it got a huge hype, everyone, including Chief Pat, started using it and it was everywhere. People found weak points in the base and now everyone knows how to beat it.
Try to make your own base first. Look at some of the popular bases to get ideas if needed.

Of course town halls are the most important building! Where would villagers run to when a village gets th sniped?? :rolleyes:

All the gold storages in one compartment... I love to raid those kind of bases, so easy to get the gold. Please copy it!

If you can't make your own base, use base designs made by forum users, you can usually rely on them better than those "best" bases you get by just googling.

Sorry, but if you're base isn't maxed out it is just you're underupgraded.
If a town hall above you (or two or three :rolleyes:) attacks you then it's their troop upgrades and plain superiority (which I know from TH10 attacks against me, I'm a TH8.)

1.Put your storages in the middle with the heavy defenses. 2.Surround them with 3 layers of walls. 3.Spread everything else out. It works amazing, and surprisingly, no one knows how to attack bases like that.

A useful guide step for step basedesigning i made
1. Decide your style, farming/pushing/hybrid/transformer
Farming: th is outside, loot is extra protected
Pushing: th is inside, loot is more on the outside, th is most important here
Hybrid: focusses on loot AND trophies, usually works less for both
Transformer: a base which can switch between farming and pushing without much problems

2. Design a core.
This is the hardest part in my opinion, a base can not function without a proper core.
First off, you want your cc centralised, so place the cc in the center, then start surrounding it with important buildings.

-In a vault base, these buildings are usually storages and wizardtowers, these cores are big
-In a pushing base, there is usually at least 1 point defence, a BK if possible, the th, probably an AD and perhaps some splashdefence, these cores are usually mediumsized
-In a farming base without vault, it usually has a BK, an AD, a mortar/wizardtower and a storage

Surround the core with your high level walls, wb's don't get here and it will slow down the attacker more.

3. Make the second layer.
This one is hard to explain, since there are a lot of variations of it, I won't go through all, but I will give some guidelines.
First off, make sure it is made out off several compartments, one big compartment doesn't work (unless you are making an anti-hog base)

The second layer is where the rest of your stuff goes, your last storages, AD's wizardtowers, mortars.

4. Make the last layer.
The last layer uses the last point-defences and perhaps storages you didn't need in your second layer.

5. Tweak.
Afterwards, look if it follows the 'rules' I wrote below this, if it does, perfect! If it dosn't tweak it until it does, or don't, but it will probably be better to follow the rules.

6. Place the useless buildings on the outside as final step.
Be sure to cover all of the cc's range so it is harder to lure!

Rules to a good base:

1. Triangular splashdefence
2. Variation between cannons and archertowers
3. No x-junctions
4. No exposed T-junctions
5. No improper junctions
6. Use funneling!
7. Unlurable cc and BK/AQ
