Traps - time based as opposed to individual usage.
Ever have this happen ?
You set all the traps on your base and the first attack falls for all your tricks and fails in trying to get your loot, and fails miserably because of your traps.
Next attack a short while after has no problem taking ALL your loot because all the traps are gone and now the door is wide open for them to walk right in with no danger of traps. Once someone sees all those gravestones they know - traps are likely sprung and castle troops are likely gone.
So I'm out the 150k Gold on traps, and whatever loot I lost on the second attack. So, I would have been better off just not setting the traps and save the 150k Gold.
What people do instead, is leave their town hall outside the walls, in an attempt to get a shield from someone looking for free trophies. Seems like a lose/lose for the gameplay here.
Solution
Timed Traps.
When you purchase a trap, it will rearm as many times as needed over a period of time. That way if you want to go to bed, you buy 8 hours of trap time. This would be bought for each trap individually and have an option to rearm all for a given time, maybe 1 hour increments.
I would pay more for this functionality as it ensures that NOBODY gets a freebie and is able to attack my fort with no traps while I am gone.
It's not as effective as a shield, but increases challenge for other users and you don't feel c-h-e-a-t-ed.
