Lightning spells and farming

So I'm on the fence with this one. To start off I'm a TH9 farmer floating around 1500 trophies Level 81. I've recently been saving up a bunch of DE for my l3 minions and I keep getting lightning spelled 3 times or so on my DE storage. Don't get me wrong I understand this is perfectly within the rules of the game to do but man does that tick me off. I feel as if it's unfair at least in the sense of zapping a storage you know? I'm not suggesting they remove lightning spells I was more or less just making a statement.

Now having said that... is it smart to jump ship and join? Is the elixir swap for DE worth it? Obviously it depends on how much you value your elixir and your current amount but do you ever zap a DE storage or elixir/coins just to get the resources?

It mostly makes sense with the DE since spending around 20k elixir on a lightning speller to get anything less off a regular elixir storage wouldn't be smart. But maybe spending 60k elixir to get a few hundred off a DE storage would be a tradeoff for some?

In the end I'll go with it's just annoying in the farming aspect and I'll probably never do it but I'm open to opinions and thoughts! Thanks!

Most people think zapping is cheap.
However, you can do de drill raids and every 2 hours or so zap for like 500 DE... I guess if you see that as profitible then go for it.
Just be aware that the forums pretty much hate zappers.

I have no issues with de zapping or wasting elixer... If im getting offline and i run into a th10 with tons of de ill zap them.

I'm officially immune to zaps.

I've seen TH10s dropping 5 lightning spells on my DE as revenge, it's so sad that it's not even funny.

If you think lightning DE is despicable and you don't next when you find a weaker base with lots of loot, you're a hypocrite.

Yeah how much could a single l4 lightning spell net you in DE on a storage at about 1500? Rough estimate? That's where I'm at and I don't plan on zapping but I want to know what my options would be.

There a much better means of getting DE but if zapping floats your boat, then go ahead. Your likely to be revenged by the person and get 100% destroyed losing what you gained. But i guess it can work :)

Thanks for the picture! Well instantly I know it's not practical for me to JUST zap the DE at this point in time. Most people that I raid don't have maxed DE Storage and I only have l4 lightning spells not l5 and only have 3 currently soon to be 4. I don't see wasting over 100k elixir on 1632 dark... I mean the regeneration time hurts more than the elixir hit. I'd much rather spend money on gems at that point and just buy DE then waste 2 hours making spells and 100k elixir for that low. I could work 2 hours in that time, buy myself lunch and receive over 10 times the amount of DE. But that's besides the point and not everyone buys gems. Thanks again.
