no difference though. =) you still use up your gold.

how am I wrong?
why should I NOT overshoot?
here's how I do it
start off with 2mil gold ---> upgrade a cannon to lvl9 -----> 1.2mil left -----> upgrade 2 skulls with 200k left over for nexting
how is that the same?
my objective is to get as many walls done asap
the difference is how long you hold the gold for
Actually Sandalhat's point is very valid. I could name 20 people off the top of my head that could and do farm 6.48 million gold in one sitting. And even if you did catch those people offline for a bit while their army trains, or any clasher that is well upgraded enough to upgrade their WT to 8, I doubt you would be able to get all 4 of their gold storages. Of course it would be nice to be able to dump all your gold into walls whenever you want, but then there would hardly be any gold to take, and the clash gods knows we don't need that!
There is a difference.
Situation A (builders not needed for walls):
Quickest builder available in 14 days. Next defense upgrade is 4 million gold. Wall costs 1 million per piece. Say i need 2 days to farm 4 million gold, so for the first 12 days i'll throw my gold into walls the whenever i hit 1 million gold. So for the first 12 days i can farm as much gold as i want while offering 0 gold to be raided.
Situation B (builders needed for walls):
Quickest builder available in 14 days. Next upgrade is 4 million gold. Wall costs 1 million per piece. I can't dump gold into walls within this 14 days, so i'll be offering loot to be raided unless i don't save up.
Now, tell me, which situation you want your defender to be in?
I'm sitting on about 6mil gold at the moment. If walls didn't require a builder to upgrade I would be sitting on 0-999k. As a few people have said people would just dump their gold.
Upgrades are upgrades. Simple as that...
I like it! Doubt SC would do it though...
