hi,
im a lvl66 with a lvl7 BK at th8
i've been farming DE at 1200-1300 range b/c I thought no one would attk me, but its becoming a pain now b/c i have to save up 25k+ de which takes 5hrs+ to find
is it worth the risk going to above where i am
also, how much de is available to loot if i have 27k de or so
attacker is th8 and defender is th8
The higher you are in trophies the better dark elixir you find.
The formula for dark elixir loots is:
(multiplier percentage) x [(5% x storage amount) + (75% x amount in drill(s))]= loot
(100%)x(5%x27000)=1350
I definitely agree with the higher the better. I'm not sure how high it's reasonably safe for a TH7 to go though..

The reward of going higher is so far greater than the loss you'll incur as long as you do a few attacks, even if you get 3 starred every time you log off. Try to play when you can at least do a handful of attacks before logging off to ensure you get more than you lose.
I'm a new TH10 and farming DE at 1800-2000 and it's great. I use BARCH with lightning spells. Next until I find a 500+ DE with full pumps or storage on the outside or one level deep and grab it. If the base is a uber maxed base with full DE storage I zap it and hit end.
I'm actually surprised you're finding any DE as low as you are, so at the least move up to 1500 or so and you will be very happy. :) My TH6 account is farming at the 1200 range for comparison.
One other thing, is to ensure your DE drill is maxed. That's the quickest and easiest way to get a lot of DE.

Yeah, if you're farming DE really low and getting 50-100 a pop, then the 2k cap is REALLY scary. However, when you're farming DE at 1600-1800 and getting 500-1000 each attack with the occasional 2000+, then the 2k cap isn't nearly as bad. :)Quote:

sometimes, I find 1k DE in tough TH9 bases and loot it ...speeds up the process once in a while
High gold II and higher is best. You want to hit town hall 8, 9 and 10s (especially 9 and 10 with the chance of finding full lvl6 drills).Quote:

Yes you will get attacked more but the DE you find is worth it.
