Please, it enables to decide us before the wars or maybe even on the preparatory day whether one takes part in the wars or not.
Unfortunately, there is Clan-inside over and over again annoyance because of the participation or not participation :(
It would be better if everybody from the clan can decide whether he in the war takes part or not.
Yeah I wish people could chose or even the clan leader could chose who goes into clan wars and who doesn't. In my clan there is usually about 5 out of our 25 people in clan wars who don't participate or are gone for the clan wars making the other clan win
I think this would be great and even beneficial to the clan...
Although not ideal there are 2 ways to opt out of wars:
1. Leave the clan just before war is declared then re-join after a match has been found.
2. If your clan has 39 members the bottom 4 trophy levels get excluded. Drop your level to be at the bottom and you wont be eligible for the war.
I agree that the clan leader (which I am) should have the ability to choose , lets say up to 4 players, not to participate. However I am sure other clans have the same issues.
Supercell what do they say in addition? We need here urgently a solution.

We constantly fight with our members to participate, and have been kicking like crazy, but this has gutted our clan numbers. We have lost some good members because they were unable to commit to when we fight clan wars.

It should work by clicking on the bronze war shield in clan list to toggle on or off for participation in war.
I suppose the downside to this would be that clans would start going to war with only elite squads and the general members could get left out....but on the other hand this could be gamed by simply kicking all others but elite squad...

Definitely needed as some people know they won't be around, but don't want to leave the clan just to not gimp the war.
Also, it gives leaders the ability to know that people are cognizant of the war. Because clan mail is so limited and people might be on at different times and miss something in chat log, this aspect is hurting clan morale.
We have lost members because they don't want to war. My only reason for not wanting them there, is because they hurt us in terms of war.
I've been thinking the same thing. In my clan there are bunch of people who don't want to participate in wars. They usually leave before prep day starts and come back later but there are always 1 or 2 who forget to leave or happen to be busy when it would be to leave. Some of them have actually left the clan because of the wars but that's not what we want. If you've been a member of certain clan for ages you probably would like to stay.
I also like the idea that clan leaders could exclude players from war. Now we kick players out after two inactive wars although we're not too happy to do that. That's just something that needs to be done at the moment.
Supercell, please give us an option to exclude ourselves from clan wars!
