Yeah digging up a few pics of a ton of loot is nice to see, but for some odd unexplained reason I don't think that was very common

Must have been getting some crazy loot bonus! Who farmed in Bronze I back then besides TH6s?
For those of you who didn't play before the loot update, loot went like this.
Like today, there was a loot penalty for attacking th below your level. 10 percent for one below, 50 for two below. However, back in the day there used to be a loot multiplier if you attacked town halls ABOVE your level. Also storages capped at 200k regardless of level. Collector loot was 50 percent I believe at no cap. Th7s and 8s had the most benefit from the system.
For example
Th10 has maxed storages, full collectors.
Old loot system
th 8 available from storages 300k
th 8 available from collectors about 900k assuming max!
th10 available from storages 200k
th10 available from collectors about 450k
Now look at the new loot system
th8 available from storages 400k
th8 available from collectors 450k
th10 available from storages 200k
th10 available from collectors 450k
So in conclusion, I believe the new loot system is better because while sure lower town halls made bank once in a while, there are much more 300-400k bases to raid then in the past.

Raids larger than the current loot cap could be found, but the average loot per raid is better now.
I like the first one with 1.2m and the mines and storages look empty. Thank god they fixed that...
Why does the base look empty though? The collectors and storages dont seem to reflect available loot.
It was a visual bug. Extremely frustrating for farming back then as it was a guess as to whether the loot was in the collectors or storages.Quote:

Seriously. You have to be blind not to see it. SC nerfed the loot in purpose. Tge update probably set all the bases equally and thier stupid, greedy little hide the inactive/good loot bases code took about a day to run them all to the back of the que.
I mean , between the pics and the farming we saw just during this last update there is simply no denying it. None.

Those were the "good old days" where lower TH who don't need loot get a whole lot whereas TH9 and TH10 feed on 200k/200k maxed storages.
The loot is much more balanced now that higher level THs can get up to 400k/400k from storages and 900k/900k from a fully fed abandoned.
Ahh...I remember those...the best part was farming in silver 1 or sometimes 2...oh the days...
I like the loot now. Inactives were relied on a whole lot more back in those days as 200/200 was the most you could achieve out of the storages (loot bonus excepted).

I agree with those who prefer the new loot system. Cracking 4 storages off a TH9 or TH10 for 198K gold was an absurdly awful incentive for wrecking an advanced base - the previous system was heavily skewed towards collectors and low TH's smashing up on premmies for the loot bonus.
Most of the complaints about the "new loot system" are basically just code words for "I can't find exposed collectors with my goblins" and have nothing to do with the math involved in calculating available loot from storages.
Wait I recently came back after quitting for a year. I thought this was still the system, someone mind explaining what the new one is to me?

Now I slowly seem to realise why the walls cost so much to upgrade. The loot used to be 1 mil 1+ and you could get lvl 9 walls in 250 raids.

It is like this in most ranges. Some times are good, but most are dry. Before you could find consistent loot.
While you are correct about th10 being the same, you are wrong about th9. Just go to Sharp's thread on how to max th9 fastest and see farm gold with his hogs/heroes/healers and you will see the loot for th9 pre update was a gazillion times better than it is now. Every video you see (not just from Sharp but all of them on youtube) has massive amounts of loot that is relatively easy to get.Quote:

So Th9 players, who were not used to being hit hard, got a huge influx of high level raids. Suddenly everything was throw off kilter
But the fact loot was bad existed before all of this. Th7 players had a huge advantage in the old system do to loot bonuses. Th8 was also not so profitable to crush.
So the system changed, but overall the loot problem is just a different flavor
There actually was a time under the old loot system where there was a graphical bug that caused mines (and maybe storages) to show as being empty even when they were loaded to the brim.Quote:

Even though storage loot was increased in December, that's not very helpful for a hardcore TH9 farmer. Sure you can cook heavier armies to focus on storage raiding. But that means you raid fewer times/hr, which also means less gold per hour than raiding with fast-cook armies like BAM.

What you're describing is more like a hardcore TH9 wall farmer. If you hunt dark elixir the new loot system meant more gold potentially available on the way to cracking the dark tank.Quote:
