Inboxes are meant for receiving things. What's the use when all you get are 2 computer generated letters:
1) "You have been kicked out of the clan by xxx"
2) "XXX has sent you an invitation" Accept/Decline
That's all!
Why not we make more use of the inbox? I know what you're thinking: Read the sticky, PMs are not going to be implemented. But no. I am not asking for private messaging. I'm proposing a new donating troops system. Send troops through mail!
Basically this is how it works. Below anyone's name, your clan mate, or your Gamecenter friend, there should be a new option "Send troops". (Global chat is out of the option, more like an exploit) And by clicking that, you can choose to send that person troops.
There will also be a message system, so that "XXX has sent you troops" won't get boring, but these messages are pre-created safe-for-9-year-olds messages like:
a) Here are some troops! :)
b) Can you join my clan please? :)
c) Hey, I'd like to give you some troops
d) Thanks for being my friend, have some troops!
This will allow players to act in good faith as there are no negative side effects to this. I don't see how this can be a resource exploit if it is limited to your friends.
And to receive it, simply open your inbox and press "Open package". Then the game will ask whether you want to channel these troops to your clan castle or your army camps.
BUT seeing that there are always exploiters, there are some limitations:
i) Number of troops that can be sent is set by town hall level. (More incentives to upgrade TH yay for supercell)
ii) Troop mails have a 2 week expiry date. (So people can't keep them like a secret squirrel storage)
I think this will really sweeten up the game :)
PS There should be an achievement for this.
