Too many trolling smart-asses
I eventually tried to find out the actual amount of damage for mortars etc and I found this very interesting thread...
Damage per Second is indeed VERY confusing.
Why?
- In contrast to your opinions in your smart replies, the dpsec is even more inexact and lacks atleast as much information as the dpshot.
The disadvantage of dpsec lies in:
1. The damage is not inflicted in a permanent stream like flamethrowers etc. An arrow might hit an already dead unit for example which then took your towers more time than your super brain actually calculated for the kill..
Furthermore, 5 seconds before a mortar hits archers, they are perfectly fine, which makes any evaluated damage before this point useless. Other possible scenarios making it inexact are that the mortar misses, or the tower is disabled before it hits the target. The useful information for your brain about what has happened and how is only readable once the tower hit(or not hit) anyway, making dpshot more useful.
2. The game lacks the information of impact time. You have to manually measure by estimating that the mortar took 5 secs to hit, right? And why anyway? Do you secretly want to know the dpshot? Further some say dpshot should come with firerate to be exact. To reply like the common trolls here:" you too stupid for simple maths? Just look firerate in replay and count, i show you example blablabla..." Either way you have to look sth up..!
3. Seconds arent exact.
If you know that an archer takes EXACTLY 2 seconds to make a hit. Congrats. But the cannon is never 1 second apart or even the same, it is somewhere between the full seconds, therefore inexact and nearly impossible to calculate.
4. It is easier to estimate your troop's chances by counting hits and their damage together than having a clock in your head that alarms you every 5 seconds for mortar etc :D but why do that anyway? In the end it comes to successfull hits.
Advantages:
1. Getting a feeling for fast shoting towers like the xbow is better achieved with dpsec since the hits go too fast to count up roughly in mind.
2. In very fast paced situations, dpsec can help for better timing(if you know where to deploy special amounts for a known time) would almost be like cooking, however, you are always confronted with new meals in coc!
Once more, because I hated to read comments like this. There is absolutely no common sense involved in knowing exactly how long a tower needs to finally take a hit!
Dpsec + Dpshot both integrated in next update, please
