New update, no new content...

First time ever it's just tweaks and feature additions... :confused:

Update: SAVED WAR BASE
What's new in this update:

War Base layout and War Base Edit Mode!

✔ Been wanting to keep a separate layout for your War Base? Now you can!

✔ Your War Base layout now has a life of its own and will persist from war to war without the need to touch your regular village.

✔ War Base Edit Mode is available on the Clan War map during preparation day only. Layouts are still locked during battle day.

✔ Upgrades in your village are still automatically applied to your War Base, but remember to place any new buildings into your War Base layout!

✔ Even if you're upgrading your Inferno Tower or X-Bow in your village, you can toggle between different modes in your War Base.

Clan Wars stats improvements!

✔ All new War Stats tab shows lots of new cool war statistics. Find it under the blue star button after battle day begins.

✔ Most heroic victory and most heroic defense replays for each team are featured in the War Stats!

✔ Improved Clan war info pages under the blue star button are now outfitted with war related stats instead of general clan stats.

✔ See information about total war attacks, defenses and war stars won per member in these Clan war info pages.

Clan Wars feature improvements!

✔ Dismiss donated troops from your War Base Clan Castle if they don't meet your standards!

✔ See in the clan chat when a leader or co-leader starts or cancels a Clan War matchmaking.

Just because one of the updates gave you clan wars doesn't mean all will be that good. Before that update it was only small tweaks also. I actually like these new tweaks

Thanks to SC for making an update, but I mean this is it??? Its a little frustrating. War base is great, but its one base. I dont wanna be greedy here, but I wanted maybe 3 saved layouts. I dont think its too much to ask for

This update isn't very exciting. I was hoping for two things, war base and war opt out. Got one I suppose, but the second would have been more useful, I have annoyed members wanting to leave the clan. :(

I agree there isnt any exciting thing about new update, But I think its good. As all of us know CW was a real big update then i think its a normal situation just wait for the next update Sc wont disappoint us i promise you ;)

I agree. This update is WAY on the light side when it comes to content.

Personally I am waiting for the uproar when people figure out the "war base saved layout" is just that. Only applicable to their war base and not a base they can switch their main base to at the touch of a button. It should be good entertainment anyways since the update has nothing in it to keep me occupied.

Agreed. In my opinion, all of the 'new' features should have been released when clan wars originally came out. Quite disappointed in this update, as they are usually relatively game-changing.

Like what even is this update? its nothing i mean no new content common? i dont even like what they have released so far its really not even helpful and then of course the one thing everyone really wants which is being able to use heores while being upgraded in clan wars and then they dont even give us that. This isnt really an update seems like just some tweaks I have to say I am really disappointed with this one and next one better bring some new stuff

So that was the clan wars maintenance... where's the real update?

Considering that they said they were working on the war bases but couldn't get it done in time for the CW update, this update basically mostly consists of what they wanted to get into the last update but were too slack to get done in time.

This shouldn't really even be called an update. Its a bugfix.

I hate updates with no contents, so i agree with ya 300% i have been playing for a very long time, but it doesnt even feel like a update more like a maintance break. I have never been so disappointed. As sandalpat said, this is a very odd update in coc history! I almost need to give it a award for being the most boring update ever made :) I was expecting at least 1 thing new, but no, not a single thing, never...i will fade away noww..

It is true this is a very small update and i know he is expressing his feeling but the top priority for SC is fixing CW, since, like I said before, was a major addition to the game

I'm not trolling or complaining though, re-read my first post. I'm more surprised than anything else. I love the new CW features, don't get me wrong. The separate war base will be amazing and i'll be able to make something devastating for CW with no fear of having to redo my base for farming. Just would have liked something else included I guess.

Yeah they were probably planning something bigger, but with all the negative reactions to problems clan wars has been happening they got frantic and gave us this. Regardless I like the new update. Claw wars is a HUGE part of the game and perfecting it (or coming close) is a must.

SC have said in the past that updates are planned and worked on well in advance. Therefore when an update comes out and there are things in it that need fixing, they will not be in the next update unless they are a) already well underway at the time of the original update, or b) easy to code and fix.

The update straight after the CW update was therefore always going to be made up of things that they didn't get done in time for the absolutely huge CW update (war bases), plus easily added fixes and improvements (numbering bases and war CC troop dumps).

All of their effort over the past few months would have been on getting CW right, which was absolutely crucial - screw it up and they could lose heaps of players. Since they had to rush these fixes out, the planned future content was always unlikely to be included.

Now that the CW update and subsequent mini update is out of the way, I would imagine that the next update would consist of CW that are not easy to code, such as ghosting fix, and the already planned future content and gameplay updates.

The thing that pisses me off is the lack of the opt in/out - I would have thought this would be an easy fix but according to FB this is not even in their current plans - how ridiculous is that!

Consider that when the co-leader update was brought out, they said that the reason there is no limit on number of co-leaders, is that SC doesn't want to interfere in how we run our clans, and want us to have the flexibility to run our clans the way we want, but this absolutely crucial CW management tool is being utterly ignored at this stage, even though the majority of clans are desperate for it.

Absolute hypocrisy.

Yes I agree that having no new content is interesting, but I am glad they did a "quick fix" or "hot release" to add some minor improvements to clan wars. In my opinion it is better than no update at all which was surely the alternative.

They've said already they're trying to fix this, but its really difficult for the server to tell the difference between someone with a slow internet connection and someone who got into airplane mode, and they dont want to penalize people with slow connection.

The facts are that this is the smallest update ever and most people who have been around for a while have been surprised by that. Those people with maxed bases want something else to work on. Given what SC has produced in the past this is not an unreasonable expectation.

The simple fact that the Sneak Peek thread is only at 90 pages speaks volumes. Take out the fanbois and you're probably down to thirty pages max. Supercell seem to be doing less with more, which doesn't make commercial sense.

I too am a bit surprised by how light this update is. First time I have not been looking forward to an update and don't really care about any of it.

For me this update doesn't change anything.

- base layouts, I keep the same base anyway plus have never been attacked in a clan war to need to tweak it.
- dump troops, being in a decent clan this has never been an issue
- see who started, same as above

I guess improved stats may be nice but nothing to get excited about.

I agree. The "updated fact table" doesn't really effect anyone, the dismiss troops doesn't apply because nobody in my clan is stupid enough to donate them. And my base is a hybrid interchangeable lab-townhall base so it doesn't exactly matter. All that will do is make wars harder because before, people were lazy to change their base. So in my opinion, it doesn't really effect me or any clan mates. They should look at the future ideas and requests for things to actually integrate into coc.

Uh....they did. Unless you mean only yours...

1. There were many many MANY repeated threads asking for ability to dump war troops as save war bases. Stats was new and unexpected but Ive seen a couple similar ideas on the ideas requests that it could've been influenced by. And yes, dump war troops is good since people tend to troll.

Good on them for offering us regular updates, the last update was the biggest in history and people still find a way to complain that they're releasing an update to make the previous one even better?

i suspected that something was up when they came out with those sneak peeks lol

SC wanted to break us down slowly...can you imagine the furore had they not given us the heads up and hyped the update like they do? haha:D

pretty smart thing to do and use the lovely marika to do it...who can hate on her?:rolleyes: :D;)

but anyway the update after CW was always going to be about CW....but this is still the lamest 50 MB that im going to waste on the game:rolleyes:

and all that about opt in and out....i know that its a serious hindrance but theres hardly anything that can be done about it from SCs end which won't cause even more confusion and problems...

best thing to do is to either drop cups hard or just leave the clan until a match is found and then come back

Member opt out, which (co)leader can override, is about the only thing missing from the great clan wars now!

These were already confirmed to be in next update when clan wars came out. Nothing special about this update. They should make 1 gem collector boosts also.

Honestly, I do not look forward for this update. There will be an increase of warbases purely designed with star protection in mind, not the swip-swap transformer bases my clan have been fighting up till now. Transformer bases, being an adaptable base and hybrid bases are a lot easier to star than a true storage-out-defenses-in type warbase. I can say this from personal experience. And current warbases mostly have some form of loot protection because its too hard to keep changing your base from regular pvp to wars, people dont want to win trophies but lose a ton of resource each time in regular defense. Warbases use these lootable buildings as shields for their defense.

War castle troop dumping will likely increase the number of WCs filled with powerful troops...

All in all, I am not looking forward for this update because it would make my clan's efforts for war such as switching bases before a war and the efforts we make to ensure our WCs troops are top notch much less rewarding. A lazier clan can have layouts and WC troops as good as what we have with less effort...

If it helps Clan Wars I'm happy with this update. People keep asking why it's all Clan Wars. It's all Clan Wars because that was the last update and it wasn't complete. This is the Clan Wars update pt.2:The Tweakening.

Good points actually... But it works both ways, you'll have a Great War base also. Unless you're a weak attacker it shouldn't make too much difference.

It's not a very exciting update, but at least it has most of the requested CW improvements in it. I like it because I can now max my defenses before new content is added. Great to be ahead of the game and it also solves the 'loot issues' hehe;)

Feels to me that Supercell are basically using this update to deploy clan wars functionality that should have been there at the start and expecting us to get excited about it. But 1 of the 2 things really needed isn't in it. Opt out.

This is update may be down to them rushing clan wars out because they couldn't put it back again.

im not usually negative but just feel this is meh!

'at the start'...They could only test this with a limited number of people all working together. You can't expect them to anticipate trolls filling with goblins or CoLeaders secretly starting wars. As far as saved bases theyve always been looking into that. It just wasn't done yet.

Hmmm yeah I think they could of anticipated those things, clan wars wasn't some hugely complicated thing with hundreds of variables in terms of what the player inputs into it, for me the features of this "update" should of been there since the start.

I am like many others disappointed in this lacklustre update, the game is in a stage of its life where it needs a thick supply of content updates to keep things fresh and interesting, sadly they ain't delivered this time.

I tought about what I said before, about the update...

Maybe it was their (SC) intention to buff up defenses for clan wars and make it easier for players to have the best layout and WC troops for wars to even out the raw power vs player skills more. It would make upgrades more significant if everyone have proper layouts, only higher upgraded defense will have a better chance to defend in wars. It's quite interesting if that is why they did this.

Dedicated players will also be able to spend less time and effort for their clan's defenses and war donation management and can focus more on improving their upgrades and attack skills.

Indirectly, players who have spent time or money upgrading their village and troops will have a better chance due to the reasons I stated above.

Offense skills will also play a greater role in wars, as my clan of Hoggers have learnt from our last war where we faced a clan where around 80% of their villages are using anti-hog designs. We were forced to use mass drags, baloonions and other unfamiliar army compositions to even out the odds. We lost by a fair margin because some of my clanmates still use their hogs against their anti-hog villages, and those that didn't are too inexperienced using baloonions, GoWiWi and other comps to get a competetive result. We literally only 3 starred 10 of their bases, the rest are 2 or 1 star, with a LOT of abysmal bounces on the enemy's defenders...

It's rare for me to turn 180 degrees for my opinions, but it took a war lost and a short comment from the OP for me to reason with myself and disagree to what I said earlier.

I look forward for this update, regardless of having or not having new contents.

I don't mind being called a whiner. This is easily the most boring update ever. Bug fixes and small tweaks are cool and much needed, but I don't think they needed to have sneak peeks for them. Less hype = less whining.;)

SC supposedly spent many months secretly making Clan Wars, they even flown several popular youtubers to their head quarters to "test" out CW. I do not see the reason why there are so many flaws when it first came out. They should've had a small community of players to beta test it and they should be comprised of regular people and not SC staffs. These people would be able to tell you that switching layouts during wars it a HUGE PAIN IN THE REAR and that they've accidentally donated the wrong troops and want a way to dump them, hence CW base edit/saved and troop dumping should already be in the game.

The CW stats isn't really necessary imo, however, I'm not opposed to more datas.

Being able to see who started a war would also be solved if you have a better beta testing community. Since everyone that tested out CW were probably staffs that works in the same place, of course you wouldn't have considered this at the time, you can physically see who did it. And also because of this reason, you are familiar with everyone that you are warring against and are not faced with people with foreign names, hence it's not necessary to number them in the war map.

The ! notification is just a stupid bug.

And I really have nothing to say about the interface improvements.

While I agree that they could have better planned the initial release with these improvements included Clan Wars itself has shaken the clash world to it's core. It has woken players that had previously hung it up, it has people talking about clash and excited. This update as a whole is awesome, but the bugs need to be worked out of it. I'm glad Supercell gives a damn honestly with everyone always crying about what they didn't do. They can't just implement stuff overnight it takes time to put things together.

OT: the update is ok, it solves some existing problems and answers some questions. But yes, it's more of a patch than a normal update.
